The sun sets over the horizon as I stand there, watching the breeze play with her loose hair. She tries in vain to tame the strands that cover her eyes, giggling endlessly. Grabbing her hand, goosebumps trailing up my exposed arms, I place my forehead against hers, eyes lost in each other. We stand there a moment as I muster up the courage to say the words I have been holding onto for years,
"I love you..."
She smiles.
"...forever".
She tucks my hair behind an ear, "forever is a long time Rae".
I caress her lips with mine,
"good".
