fernclan is ruled by a regular monarchy with a few lower roles, and lives by the general belief that she-cats are below and are to submit to toms. they do not have a traditional mating season, and cats go through heat more often than usual.
clan code
1. the king's word is law; what he says goes.
self explanatory. every cat is to obey the king.
2. if the king is absent or unable to lead, the duke is to take his place.
self explanatory. the duke is the second in command.
3. the medicine cat is NEVER to be mated without consent.
the medicine cat is the healer of the clan, and is the main form of communication with the ancestors. it is incredibly frowned upon to mate with them without their consent, and is punishable by hours of clan punishment.
4. the queen is only to mate with the duke and the king unless given permission to mate with other cats.
the queen is essentially the mate of both the king and the duke, and is to only mate with them. defying this can be punished however the king and duke see fit for her.
5. the king and the duke may only be toms.
it is tradition of fernclan.
6. when an apprentice is to become a warrior or a toy, they may pick from the king, the queen, and the duke, and must mate with their choice. the cat they mate with will deem if they are ready to be promoted.
