As soon as Abhimanyu had agreed to the wedding, he was led by his cousin Parth to an adjoining change room to change into a sherwani in preparation for the wedding.
The only thought he had was where he landed himself into. His mind kept wandering back to the days when he had first met Akshara Goenka. Destiny sure has its own ways, and no matter how much one tries to escape, it does definitely catches up to them.
As soon as he was changed into the sherwani, he was pulled to the mandap, and all could do was unwilling to follow the direction the Panditji was giving him. In the midst of all of this, he looked around at the attendees and saw that not one person looked fazed that the groom had been replaced by his elder brother.
Soon, everything became hushed, and he saw the bride make her way to the mandap along with his brother, Kairav and Bade Papa, Manish Goenka. A quick touch-up from the makeup artist had surely brightened up her ruined makeup from moments before. She now looked like a porcelain doll. The tigress has calmed down and replaced the dutiful, dolic bride.
The Panditji continued his mantra and led the couple to perform the many rituals that will bound then to each other for the next seven lifetimes. Abhimanyu and Akshara found themself circling the holy fire for the Saat Pheres and concluded with Abhimanyu tying the wedding nuptial necklace "Mangalsutra" around Akshara's neck and applying sindoor along the parting- line of Akshara's hair. With that, the Panditji had announced the wedding of Abhimanyu, and Akshara was indeed complete.
Abhimanyu looked at his parents and he knew that the decision he had made was indeed the correct one. His dad was able to hold his head up high, and his mom's happiness knew no bounds. Everyone present looked pleased and happy with how things turned up, well, with the exception of the two people in question. One is Abhimanyu, and two being the bride, Akshara.
Later that evening, the bride and groom were welcomed into Birla House by a very estati Manjri. She welcomed the couple by performing the arti at the doorstep and then asked Abhimanyu "Chal Abhi, now carry my bahu in over the threshold."
Abhimanyu scrunched his face and muttered, "Please, let's now create a scene," which was heard by both Manjri and Akshara only.
Manjri again pleaded to Abhimanyu to comply with the ritual. Abhimanyu was not used to his mom begging him to do anything, so he continued onto the request and carried Akshara over the threshold. Destiny was again laughing at him. He had yearned to carry Akshara like that year back, and now he was being begged to do so. His reverie was broken when he felt Akshara squirm by his touch. He plopped her down gently in the living room as he understood her sentiments. Her life's equation changed in a matter of hours. Her to-be Jethji( husband's older brother) is now her husband and her husband to-be is now her Devar (husband's younger brother)
Abhimanyu and Akshara were led by Manjri to perform a few post wedding rituals. Things were getting too much for Abhimanyu when he hand accidently touched Akshara's hand in the vessel full of milk, trying to search for the ring that Manjri had place. He saw how she pulled out her hand as if his touch was repulising her. "Maa, we are done." He quickly stood up and dropped his stole that was still tied to her palu. He left no chance for anyone to say anything further and huffed away to his home office. Akshara just sat there with a dejected face as she gathered his stole in her lap.
Precap:
"Iss ke pass apna kya hai...saab kuch to iske Baap aur Dada ka hai" Akshara giggled while chit chatting to her fellow interns
