"I'm gonna miss you Shrek, I really will indeed" donkey covering up his eyes with his hooves as tears are welling up in his eyes. The thought of his best friend having to leave the kingdom and find another one, and possibly make a new animal best friend pains him to think about. Shrek was always there for him, and he was always there for Shrek, they grew up together, donkey grew to watch Shrek become in love with Fiona, before she sadly died as she ate a mushroom that was funny looking. And grew to watch donkey fall in love with his wife dragon, and his dragonky kids.
"I'm gonna miss you a lot more donkey, I don't know how I'm going to survive in another kingdom if you're not by my side, but I'm sure I'll figure it out" Shrek reassured donkey while caressing his face. He's deeply going to miss donkey, but he kept reminding himself that this was for the best.
Shrek took one last glance at his home in the swamp. He's going to miss the sweet aroma, the sweat, the stankiness, and the smell of decomposing plants and leaves. The memories came flooding back like a tsunami, it was clear as daylight. The memory of waking up everyday and taking in the beautiful stench around him. Shrek shedded a tear at the thought of it.
'ok Donkey,...I should leave now, I don't know how long it's gonna take me to find another kingdom, so I should look now, goodbye donkey' Shrek turned his back, the rucksack over his shoulder, he was slouching.
'b-b-bye Shrek, remember to write me a letter once in a while, I'd love to see how you're getting on there.....without me' Donkey whimpered in sadness.
'Goodbye Shrek, see you ...in another world' Donkey's last words to Shrek was before leaving.
