You were close friends with Claude Frollo and his brother Jehan Frollo, your parents were nice to his adopted parents and would live life along side them in Notre Dame, which you don't mind. You get to hang out with them while they are praying and you would sit next the Claude in silence, only small conversations here and there and when there's dead air, Jehan would break it and have conversations base on thought like what came first? Orange the fruit or orange the color or what came first? Chicken or the egg? When hard thought came to the point your heads hurt, you will find a bullshit answer, like the egg and try to cover your answer as best as you can.

You can Jehan we're viewed as best friends and Claude would just follow around in silence, his maturity and double thinking skills, he helped you both not getting into mortal trouble so you two won't get expelled by the program. You two obviously give him thanks by buying him lunch or a book he wanted.
So, how did your relationship with Claude bloom? Let me tell you.

You sat next to Claude and Jehan was in front of you, the teacher forced everyone to be in a group project about the chapter about the biblical accuracy angels before the program ended for the kids your age, you three was 18 and was accepted to notre dame from the educational experience when the leader of the program their dad came in and walked up to your table "Jehan Frollo, may I have a word with you?" His voice sounded harsh like If the devil made out with him and his voice was sore afterwords, confusion flooded all three of you when Jehan nodded and left the classroom with his dad. You were worried and looked at Claude for any information, his face was his usual frown and sore look "Claude, you okay?" His mind snapped back to realty and nodded "sorry, (y/n) my mind was somewhere else. Shall we continue with our work? We won't know when he would come back and this assignment is due tomorrow" he has a point, so you nodded and continue on with the assignment. It took almost all day for Jehan to come back with a guilt look to grab his book bag and handed you a folded up piece of paper and a spread out paper to his teacher, and left without a word which was strange because he usually open to his emotion and very extroverted. You looked at the slip of paper when you were about to open it when a hand grabbed it in a flash "(y/n), you are just getting distracted, let's finish this up, we're almost done" Claude put paper in his bag and switched his personality like a light "now then, do you have any plans this weekend, (y/n)?" He said as he finished up his assignment and you did too "not that I know of, why?" He smiled lightly, something unusual of him "I was just curious if we could go to get some lunch and head to the library to study some more, I found some books in region section that we can both read under a tree near Notre dame before our first day together" "I would love to, but I have to ask if it's okay with my parents before we make anymore plans" you awkwardly smile 'how come he immediately asked e after Jehan left?' You thought and hopefully your parents won't let you go in the weekend because you were way to nice to say no to him.

Once you got home, you were welcomed by your mother (or dad) "how's my future Notre Dame pasture doing!" They hugged you as you dropped your bag on the couch and laughed "I'm doing great, knowing my friends will be there with me" you smiled but they looked you in a serious manner "you might gonna be barely see them only for work purposes" "what?" "When I was talking to Claude and Jehans dad and mom, I realized how problematic Jehan is and I'm sure Claude is one too" they pulled you away from you "what made that decision?" You sounded nervous "I saw Jehan coming to the program drunk and with a Romani" (I'm avoiding the actual term from the movie like the plague) "I understand drunk, but what's wrong with Romani people? How come you don't see them as innocent and wants the same rights as we do, that they just want to li-!" You were cut off by your parent before continuing "(y/n) (l/n) don't raise your voice like that, you are 18 and about to spend the rest of your years in that church. You must believe the same way they do" you sighed "alright" you mumbled as you took a deep breath, at least you didn't have to ask "I don't think you're ready for it" your heart dropped "excuse me?" "It'll help and teach you that you don't necessarily need the church and a few years away" of course, you won't win even if you stand your ground. So, you did what your parent said.
