Dazzling lights . Subtle chatter about pointless things . People shuffled around the marble floor , scurrying towards their next victim for tonight . Masks drowned the nameless faces . Some gold . Some silver . Some bronze . Embellished with the finest diamonds to grace the earth . The masks hiding nothing but the true identity of these guilty individuals . The chandelier above , twirling above like the moon does the earth , illuminating the nights secrets .

The music quietened , the light dimmed . The crowd scurried like mice to their seats , gluing their eyes to the tall arch that stood perched at the front of the hall . Waiting . Watching . The chatter dissolved within the anticipation amongst the people as they all held their masks tightly towards their face . A harsh cough could be heard from the front , beckoning for everyone to turn their way . "Quiet down now ....quiet down...The man is here , the man we've all be waiting for. Sir Lucian Lettle ." The man bellowed across the hall .  A tall , defined figure ghosted under the arch , a hand tucked into the side of the his satin blazer . The crowds eyes widened at the sight of him , gawking at him with each step . Oohs and Aahs flooded the area as he made his way to his seat , ignoring the giggles the attempted to drown him . Except , as he sat there was something . Something in his eyeline . Something pulling him to look up , not that his brain wanted to... it was just heart .

The long , never ending table sat many people chattering away , struggling to get Lucians attention . No one worth the time , no one worth the words of such a man of his status , or so he thought .  A delicate hand , grasping a wine glass sat prettily to his left , twirling the contents within it . The rings upon the hand , dazzling like stars underneath the chandeliers light , which shot lightly into His eyes . Lifting his head ever so slowly , he is greeted with an alluring smile that lay upon the nameless face , complimenting her copper almond eyes that darted towards him . Tilting her head to the side , awaiting a word , a signal from this statue of mystery . But nothing comes off it , except for a slow nod and a sip of the champagne that sat in front of him . He finds he can't take her eyes off her , but why .  Turning to his left and right , forcefully communicating with the eager people beside him , every now and again catching himself stare back towards the woman . Why can't he stop he thought , but there was no known answer .

The sound  of her heels clicked against the marble floor as she excused herself away from the busy table , dragging her hand slowly across his chair as she passed . It took everything in him to not turn around, but he couldn't fight it...he needed to know who she was.He needed to know now.His eyes watched hungrily , taking in each one of her steps while people spoke at him . Not once did she look back to assure him he was welcome to join her . Not once did she ignite the idea that he was wanted . But he knew that there was something about her stare , about her suffocating vanilla smell , about the way she carried herself that he must find her. And so he left...
