He was going to give you a fucking ring.

And what? You threw it away because of how exhausted you felt from him treating you like a rag doll, but he did love you.

Your eyes stayed on that blue velvet box, wondering the exact cut and shape of ring. Yet that composure you so dearly wanted to hold onto was now gone. Mouth agape and eyes flickering between him and the box, you couldn't help but let a hot, steamy tear hit your cheek.

"You were going to ask me to marry you?" Words clogged from the lump that made an appearance in your throat, "you wanted Me to marry you?"

"What does it look like to you?" He spoke, "I know you can see the box."

Maybe you were wrong for walking out on him. Maybe he didn't mean to treat you that way. Maybe you were the reason why you left him. Not him, not Simon. But you.

"Si, why?"

"What do you mean, why?" Left Eyebrow lifting up at you, "why wouldn't I not want to you marry you?"

"Because.."

"Because of what?" Tone showing bits of anger, "because of the bullshit we put each other through? Because we still find a way around to our problems? Because you were the one who sticked like glue onto me to not let you go?"

Simon's words were starting to hit home. He loved and lived for you, not only did y'all fight but you stuck through it and that's what makes "love" love.

"I never meant to start that argument with you that day," your words making themselves present, "I was so tired and couldn't take it anymore."

"And how do you think I felt when you left?" He countered stopping you mid sentence, "I drank almost everyday, waiting for you to come back and now you're here. Talking it out like an adult."

"And I apologize for that Si," brows furrowed looking at him, " I'm only human and I came to talk to you."

"About?"

"Giving each other another chance."
