After she traveled through the states of America, Celia found a way to make herself a home in Mystic Falls. The place where the Original Vampires were created, where Esther did the ritual and casted a long life of misery, destruction and blood lust over her children. But being in a town that reminded her of Kol wasn't the best choices she made, even after finding friends in Bonnie and Elena.
Every time she tried to leave the apartment, the thoughts of Kol tormented her. The way, he would have loved how her hair was braided over her shoulder, exposing the soft skin of her neck to him. The vampire would have never bitten her, would have never drained her blood; an oath he has sworn the day he promised his eternal love.
The ghost of her lover followed her with every step. How the see-through windows reflected the glimpse of love and admiration in his amber orbs when Kol's gaze lingered on her. Painful waves of missing him, when she couldn't sleep at night. Memories of the past years haunted her, the way his gentle but tight embrace kept her close to his body. Even if he couldn't be warm, he still always tried to gather enough of her to keep it forever.
Late night conversations about the years he lived through, the ones she never could see because she wasn't born, were replaced by warm cocoa and a thick blanket. Seated in the window to stare at the glistening golden sparkles in the midnight blue, next to the white full moon as she wished, pleaded for his return.
The spell that bound them together, promised them an eternity together and slowly started to crawl towards her aching heart. When one had the urge to dagger the Original, she was left alone in a world, she didn't want to explore without Kol.
Dreams and promises were ripped from them, her heart was taken away and laid to rest with his body. Uncertainty about his possible return settled in as Niklaus taught her that the bodies of his siblings were securely stored away in the wide ocean where no one would be able to find them.
But the painful moments of hope didn't want to disappear, wondering where the two could be right now. As she sat in her window, staring off into the darkness, the hallucinations slowly appeared. His figure standing outside in the garden, waving at her with the signature mischievous smirk on his lips.
Celia heard his words daily, while she was awake and asleep. Kol walked through her dreams casually, reminding her of his face and the loving embraces of his arms. While she walked through the streets and the foreign sounds around her were suddenly speaking to her, talking in his lovely accent and calling her darling. But as soon as she turned around to embrace the surprise of his return, a pinch of disappointment struck her when no one was around.
She made a life for her own, it was what Kol would have wanted for her. But she couldn't let a person in, she didn't want someone to see the misery and chaos inside of her. With the mask of happiness on her face, she was doing a good job. No one in Mystic Falls realised that she was alive for the past 100 years, that she was bound to an Original. One of the first vampires that turned into a legend, a bad good night story, but Celia knew, he was alive between the different eras, and she fell in love with him. Kol Mikaelson.
And here she was, a teenage girl at the Mystic Falls High School, preparing to attend another day and see the happiness in Elena's and Caroline's eyes about their relationships. Vampires and Werewolves surrounded her, but not the one she truly desired to be with. But she had to move on somehow, had to find out how to break the spell that bound her to the endless life of missing someone that would never return.
Kol wanted to find a solution to be with her for an infinity, without having to turn her. His death would have counted for both of them in the end, and he would never want to see her on the Other Side because of him. Then he found witches, strong ones that casted a spell over her which they used, a spell of immortality and no ageing. A wonder but after Niklaus' betrayal, it was a curse for Celia.
And now she settled in Mystic Falls after graduating in New Orleans, missing his touch, his gentle kisses and the endless amount of smirks and compliments. Celia missed Kol more than she could express and it tormented her even more that Niklaus and Elijah appeared in town. It gave her hope again, painful hope that her dreams could be reality again. And if not, if she would never see him again, she was bound to a world she hated.
And after the stories about the Originals, the tales told by many different sources about the ruthless vampires, Celia saw the disguise in her friends eyes. Pure hatred for the unknown males and females who never asked to be this way, a protection from their mother, the oldest witch known. The future could take her down two different paths; reunited with her lover but on the bad side of her found friends or sharing a connection with the little group of Mystic Falls but never feeling Kol's touch again.
The situation didn't seem to be right either way, a tormenting and painful fate she had to deal with one day; and maybe earlier than she thought after Niklaus appeared in the same town. The knowledge about her past, who she was a hundred years ago, the secrets she kept from her friends were deeply locked inside of Klaus' mind as memories.
But even if she could lose what she has gained over the past year, Celia was still reaching out for the past, hoping that one day, she would have the chance to live through all the plans they have made.
