Briskly Cass walks though the snow covered streets, Alexander follows close behind. " Cass." Alexander states trying to grab her attention. She heard him, but chose to ignore him. She was to angry for reasoning. Ruth had always been her supporter, now suddenly she was not. Ruth looked her with judgement and coldness. Cass was hurt but more so angry. She had felt betrayed. Alexander's hands grasped her arm halting her to a stop. Her boots skidded on the cold wet ground as she roughly turned to him. " what?" She asks through gritted teeth. Alexander searches her face as she avoids eye contact with him. He narrows his eyes at her. " calm down." He states. Her eyes shoot up to his. Staring daggers at him. "I don't now her anymore." She admits with anger in her hurt voice. Alexander shakes his head. " she doesn't know you anymore either obviously." He replies. " I want to go home Alexander." she shoots back at him impatiently. He sighs for a moment, his hold still on her arm. Finally after a moment he regretfully lets go. Quickly Cass turn away from him, waking away.
Her heels of her boots stomp loudly onto the ramp of the Siren. Alexander still following behind her. " You don't wish to explore the village? Perhaps dinner?" Alexander asks kindly with a trying smile as she stops looking back at him. She no longer looks as angry but clearly she's bothered. " Your asking me to dinner?" She asks almost expecting him to be joking. He gestures simply with his hands in a shrugging way. " Yes? It's not something we do often... if at all." Alexander admits. She turns her head puzzled. " Alexander Why would I want to explore the village I grew up in?" She asks him rhetorically. His face slightly falls at her words. " Cass if that's something you do not wish to do it's alright. You've been on the Siren for sometime now, I only wish for you to be able to have freedom. Not just to life on the ship." He states simply put but clearly kindly. She shakes her head "no" to his offer. He nods to her as she then turns continuing to walk away further onto the ship. The wind hits his face, it cold and brisk. Taking a deep and rough breath he watches her. She was different from the girl he knew before. She had grown quite a lot. Part of him missed her young arrogance she didn't show as much. Her curiosity and determination seem almost invisible to him in this moment. And that hurt him. Had allowing her to stay so long on this ship take that from her? Was she given to much open space that she had lost her family. He loved her, yes with his whole soul. How could he not? But who was she becoming?
" I take it, it did not go as well?" Mr Gilles voices to Alexander as he jumps down from a small sail. His hands greasy from greasing the medal pieces up above. His hair has grown noticeably longer as some of the top has fallen out of his usual tight bun on the back of his head. Alexander shakes his head. " No. It did not." Alexander admits with a sigh. Mr Gilles rubs his nose as they both look to Cass who is now at the helm. Her slim fingers tracing the wood and medal of the helm itself. She's obviously lost in her thoughts. " Yes I remember you mentioning you would be staying with her family instead of the Siren." Mr Gilles states. " That was what I said yes." Alexander confirms his statement. " Cass had other plans, and so did her sister." He adds. Mr Gilles frowns. " She did not want to stay?" He asks him. Alexander folds his arms as he still eyes his Cass. " Not after her argument with Ruth." He answers. Mr Gilles looks at him somewhat interested. Alexander scoffs with a sarcastic and annoyed smile at the situation. " Seems like you've had an eventful evening Alexander, in other news Micheal found an extra crate from our last delivery in one of the back rooms of the storage room. Is that to be a cause for concern? It hasn't been opened but it was clearly missing during the delivery of... well whatever Mr Phillips had us deliver." Mr Gilles explains to Alexander. Alexander lifts and eyebrow as he looks now at Mr Gilles. " Just one? No more yes?" Alexander asks him. Mr Gilles nods. " Yes just one. I didn't know what we were delivering so I did not know if what importance it was." Mr Gilles explains further as he shrugs his shoulders. " All the deliveries are important John. It is our job." Alexander says calmly as he looks around the ship. " I know that." Mr Gilles replies confused by Alexander's words. Alexander smiles slightly as he was being sarcastic. " I will let Mr Phillips know and I'll handle it. Thank you John." He says as he walks away from Mr Gilles.
Cass lays in Alexander's bed. Her night shirt on and her hair still down as it covers her face slightly. She isn't asleep. Wrapped in the covers of the warm bed serves as a slight comfort. She felt guilty. For quite a few things, her now corroded relationship with her once beloved sister. And her denying of Alexander's sweet offer. Yes she would have loved to walk around her home village with him. She just answered him out of anger. But it was to late for it now. Was he angry with her? It was well past the early evening hours and Alexander still hadn't come to bed. But as soon as that thought crossed her mind the door to his quarters opened and the familiar sound of his boots hitting the wood could be heard as he shut the door softly. As he clearly thought she was asleep. She keeps her composure, her eyes shut as she listens to her walk around room to his desk. Setting a few papers down and blowing out a small candle the dimly lit the room. Now only the moon shining through his window can reveal things in the dark room. The sound of him taking off his boots, jacket and his shirt hit the ground. She wanted to apologize. But at this moment she only wanted to pay attention to the actions that she had seen and heard quite a few times but still loved. His simple existence. She wanted to observe it all. Climbing into the bed with he's still attempting to be quiet. Her back is towards him as she feels his chest press against her back. He leans over her to look at her. Still she doesn't move. The feeling of his fingers pull the hair from her face and his comforting hand runs the back of his fingers against her cheek. He reaches her chin taking a hold on it softly her holds it. His thumb running along her lips. " I love you." He whispers almost inaudibly. She opens her eyes. To his. He smiles. " So you faked asleep. I see." He states. She smiles back. " You never asked me if I was awake." He stares at her unreadable before answering." Fair I suppose." As he pulls back and laying down behind her. His chest still pressed to her back as his one arms loops underneath her waist holding her and his wrapping over her shoulder meeting her right hand. She takes ahold of his hand softly playing with his fingers as she begins to feel tiredness. " I'm sorry. I would love to explore the village with you." She admits in a mumble. He plants a kiss on her exposed shoulder as his shoulders tower over hers making it easy. As he responds. " Perhaps I can make time tomorrow then."
