"The gala is tonight." Nathaniel said slightly irritated.
Marc was helping him to chose an outfit for the forsaken gala.
"You met your wife tonight, that's something to look forward to." Marc said trying to lift his spirits while depleting his own.
"I'm not sure. My parents are going to Mary me of to the Dupan-Chang dynasty if I don't to find one. I've met their princess, Marinette but she is head over heals for Adrien of the Agrest kingdom."
Marc recognized the Agrests they were a famous royal family due to their enemies and huge fortune.
"Well I hear Marinette is a good person at least."
Nathaniel sighed as he finished getting dressed.
"Get over here Nathaniel. I need to do your hair."
"Okay okay."
Nathaniel sat on the floor as Marc tied back his red hair, it was long for what was considered appropriate to a man but nobody really cared all that much. As he knotted a bow out of ribbon on the princes hair. Nathaniel lied his head back, the position was very nice. Marc was seated on the bed as Nathaniel sat on the floor in a position that resembled a child. His head sat in Marc's lap.
"Hehe. Get up, your gonna be late." He stood up causing Nathaniel's head to fall from his lap.
"Okay... I don't want to." He sighed and he walked to the door.
"I'll see you after, now go on it will be fun."
"Bye Marc, meet me in my room after."
"O-Okay, why?"
"Just promise me you will okay!"
"Okay. Now go." Marc pushed him down the hall to the ball room.Nathaniel's point of view.
The music was quite loud and the room was very full. I just wanted to leave and dance with Marc, but here I was.
I noticed a maid who was serving the guests seemed to be talking very closely with one of the princesses. I believe her name was Rose, and the princesses was... well I don't know her first name but
I believe she's from the Couffaine family, they had a son as well.
I decided I would just sit of to the side and just live with what my life was going to become. There was nothing I could do.
Soon a slow song began. I noticed the princesses rose was talking to was walking over to me.
"Hello, umm, would you like to dance?"
"O-Oh okay."
I straightened myself up and took her hand."Sorry, your just the only other man with out a partner and my parents are gonna marry me of to someone I hate so I'm just trying to find I someone who's close to the one I love and your the prince o their kingdom so I thought if you didn't want to marry who you were set to you would marry me and then I can still be close to her and- oh shit- sorry, sorry sorry!"
I was flabbergasted. She was a homosexual.
"Would you marry me? That sounds weird but my parents won't let me marry who I love because he's a man, so if we married it would just make it and so we could both be with who we loved! Nobody would suspect a thing!"
She stared at me and smiled.
"I like it!"
I could be with Marc! And I wouldn't have to worry about my parents pestering me to marry!
"Oh what's your name?" She asked me.
"Nathaniel, and you?"
"Juleka!"
"Okay would come with me to tell my parents we're getting married?"
"Okay will you come with me to tell mine?"
"Okay!"
We stopped dancing and we made our way through the crowd to my parents.
"Father, Mother. I obliged to your wishes. I have found a wife. We wish to marry and remain in our kingdom."
"Who will continue her legacy." My mother asked.
"Her brother." I stated firmly.
"Perfect. Good you found a wife." My father said.
"We may discuss your wedding another day."
I smiled.
We were going to wed and be with the ones we love.
Hopefully, it suddenly hit me. Marc may not love me, I can pray he dose but at least Juleka will be happy. That's something I suppose.
She stopped me as we were walking back to her parents.
"Won't our parents expect children?"
They would. Oh no.
"We could just say you have some fertility issues or something."
"Okay that works!"
We kept going after that problem was resolved.
After the discussion with her parents the rest of the ball wasn't that bad. Juleka and I actually had quite a bit in common it was nice. She was a good friend.Back to the way it was, third person
Marc walked into Nathaniel's room thankfully unnoticed. He was very upset knowing that Nathaniel was to be wed to someone, that was not him.
The heavy creaking of the door startled him as he saw Nathaniel enter the dimly lit room.
" I danced with my future bride tonight." He said walking up to Marc.
"She is very lucky." He said feeling as if he were to cry.
"But-" Nathaniel reached one hand out.
"I haven't yet danced-" Marc gently placed his hand in Nathaniel's.
"With the one I love."
Marc looked up, his eyes glistening in the bright starlight. Nathaniel pulled him in, and he danced.
"Y-You love me?! How! Why?"
"Because, you're perfect. I love you Marc, I adore you."
"Thank god." He released the tension in his body weakened into Nathaniel's arms.
The prince lifted Marcs head, at his eyes refusing to break eye contact. Pressed his lips to Marc's. Out of pure shock Marc retreated his head.
"I-I'm sorry!" Nathaniel let go of Marc and stepped back.
"I should have asked." He blushed so deeply of a crimson, Marc couldn't help but laugh.
" it's not that I didn't want to..." Marc sat down next to Nathaniel, who had just flopped onto his bed.
"It's just that, you said you had a bride to be wed, isn't this wrong?"
"No! I love you! And she loves Rose! We're only marrying so we can both be with our true loves and nobody will suspect anything."
"That's- genius!" Marc straddled the prince and kissed him. Nathaniel loved it. They remained like that until the lack of air was to much.
Nathaniel then pulled him down and held him so securely in his arms as if he released, his love would disappear. They soon drifted to asleep just loving each other's presence.End of chapter 2. 1097 words
