Cameras. Cameras everywhere. I wonder if they watch us pee and stuff. Shit, I'm going to learn how to pee without showing my special flower.
Faking my confidence, I stated, "I really don't care, actually, I sorta expected us to be filmed. Can you show me to my room now and get this tour over with?"
Alexis nods, and takes me up to the next level of the building, where all of the rooms are. Dead in the middle of the huge area, is a boxed in room, with a single wooden door. On each of its sides there is a space, then a line of rooms. Far too many for only seven patients.
I point towards it, asking,"What is that room?"
Alexis starts fidgeting. avoiding the question. Once I finally convince her to tell me, she bites her lip and says, "That is what Vivian calls the Self-Reflect room. Once you go in, you never come out. That's why no one gets in trouble here or tries to escape. They will always catch you, and then you're done. That's it. So, my advice is to keep your head down and be respectful, if thats even possible for you. That attitude of yours... better keep it in check."
This time, I actually showed my fear. I knew something was off about Vivian, she gave off a vibe that gave me chills down my spine. What does she do with the people in the "Self-reflect" room? Is it like solitary confinement? or is it something worse? Well, I sure as hell am not going to find out.
Alexis shakes off her sudden fears, and leads me to the end of the hall, where my room is. I guess I have roommate too, because as we walk in, a petite blonde is sitting on the bed with a journal in her hand. She slams it shut, and welcomes me.
"Hello! I'm Madeline. Your one and only ticket to companionship."
I laugh, and smile. I think she is someone I'd get along with. Alexis starts flirting with Madeline, and whilst she is doing this, I glance around. There wasn't any windows, just two beds, a sink, no mirrors, a toilet and a small chest at the end of each bed. My thoughts are interrupted once again, by a knock on the door.
An overweight, nerdy looking boy pops his head in, giving me a cheeky smile. He leaves quickly after.
I frowned, asking, "What was that?"
Madeline gives a laugh, saying, "oh, that was Jeff. he does that to every girls room. He's.. special. More 'Special' than others if you get my flow."
I nod, and Alexis tells us goodbye, leaving Madeline and I alone.
"So, tell me, give me the run down of the patients." I sit next to her on the bed, and she gives a hefty sigh.
"Well you've already met Jeff and Alexis, so that leaves Barry, Sam, Lisa and me I suppose. Barry is actually my husband. He got me dragged into the mess. It's a long story. He's a bit mysterious and egotistic. Doesn't take kindly to strangers. Sam on ther other hand, is a basic surfer dude. With an obsession of Aliens of course. He belives he got abducted. Lisa, she's completely nuts. More than Alexis, even. She's literally bipolar, and she can get aggressive. She has made many escape attempts, we are suprised she hasn't been in the self-reflect room yet. She has two strikes, one more and she is out."
"What about you? You seem fairly normal to me. "
"So do you. But there is always a story behind everything, even people like us."
