Best Friends Forever

Castiel Novak laughed childishly, like any eight year old boy would do. "Dean, look! I made it!" Dean Winchester glanced over at Cas who was standing underneath their country club's basketball hoop with a giant orange basketball in his hands which looked much too big for him. He was grinning from ear to ear like he had just won the lottery.

"Seriously? Nice. I always thought you were too short." Dean teased him. Dean was only a couple inches taller than his best friend, but if he ever got the chance to rub in Cas's face, he did. Cas shoved him. "C'mon, we gotta get back to my mom. She's gonna be worried." So Cas and Dean ran down the street and past a couple houses until they reached the Novak's.

The Novak house was pretty impressive. Especially to Dean. His dad, his brother, and he all lived in a trashy apartment on the other side of town. Cas's house was like his second home, except it felt more like home than his dirty little apartment. The house was a two-story with balconies from every upstairs bedroom. Inside, the place was so clean, it could've been a hospital. The only part of the house that wasn't clean was Cas's room.

They rushed into house pushing each other and laughing. "Woah there, slow down there boys." said Cas's mom, Rebecca Novak. "Sorry Mrs. Novak!" yelled Dean as he ran down the hall into his best friend's room. He plopped down onto the bed staring at the ceiling, breathless. Cas was right behind him. He laid down right next to him.

"Dean, do you think we'll be friends forever?" asked Cas after a moment of silence. Dean thought about it. "I hope so. My life would pretty much suck if you weren't in it." Dean replied. Cas smiled, satisfied with his answer. Cas grabbed Dean's hand and stared straight into those green orbs with his blue ones. "Friends forever?" he said. Dean giggled.

"Best friends forever." he corrected him.
