It was Monday, 8:25 am. All was tranquil. The sound of the breeze was relaxing. Nothing could go wrong. The day was awake, and the night was tucked in. A new dawn has arisen. Marcus was in the kitchen, making bacon and eggs, as you do. He and Fiona were to attend a science experiment held at Fox-Worth National Chemistry Lab. The two mounted the red sedan, and took off towards Fox-Worth.

It was hours and hours before they finally reached their destination. Fiona retrieved her backpack from the seat beside her, and dismounted the car. Marcus was a bit hesitant to follow. He was a terrible scientist, and had no idea what even a neutron was. Fiona, on the other hand, was a scientific genius! She could tell the difference between a neutron and a proton. She had made amazing discoveries over the past seven years, and was energized, prepared for the upcoming day, or was she?

'Ah, yes, hello there my friends, uh, fellow scientists and uh, peers. Today, I uh, will be conducting an experiment on this uh, inanimate corpse. Yes, I uh, will attempt to re-animate it, containing it of course, to see if I can uh, find a way to revive uh, dead humanoid life forms, thus creating a new uh, race, a new species of uh, humans. Invincible, uh, with a higher uh, intellect then uh, ever before, uh.'
Everyone uh, clapped at this rousing speech, given by Gapless, the head scientist at the lab.
Well, he certainly succeeded, at the re-animating part anyway...

As the lightning shocked the lifeless body and the liquid was injected inside the corpse's heart, a small flinch could be seen. A small flinch in the arm. Another flinch, but in the leg. More and more flinches came until, CRASH! The glass was shattered and the experiment was free. Immediately, it began creating it's army, biting everyone and infecting the community. Marcus ran, but Fiona was slow. 'This isn't happening! Fiona!' Gapless, who was now also infected, lunged at her, targeting her brain, as zombies do, but missing. Instead, the shoulder was impaled by rotting teeth. Fiona built up the strength to run, run from the zombies, run from the fear, run from the doom. She made it, but she was badly wounded. Marcus and Fiona sprinted towards a nearby supermarket. As soon as they entered, Marcus swiftly ran towards the medicine, finding a large bandage, a splint and a half-eaten sandwich. Ew!
He returned with the goods, except the sandwich. He explained to Fiona the situation she was in. The zombie infection was going to be widespread around her whole body. She was going to become one. Fiona's tears where hot, and many. Marcus tried to comfort her, but it only made it worse. Fiona knew that soon, she would forget about her brother's bond, and only see him as food. The thought of losing Fiona was horrifying to Marcus. He just couldn't live with himself if anything happened to his beloved sister. 'M-Marcus?' Fiona questioned her brother, trying to find out what happened. 'Everything's gonna be alright, right? I'm scared...' Marcus began trying to comfort his terrified sister.'Sh, Fiona. Don't worry. Dead or alive, I will always love you.' The soft sound of his voice was soothing, and soon Fiona was resting in his lap.

'FIONA! NO!' It was over. Fiona had finally become victim to the zombies, and transformed into one. Marcus was heartbroken. He ran and ran, but everywhere he looked, zombies were there. Everywhere he went, re-animated corpses would follow. He was surrounded, he was enraged, annoyed and bothered he couldn't save Fiona. She was there, coming towards him. 'Fiona...' That was the only word Marcus could find, before he joined his sister, walking around in search of brains, in search of flesh.

'Fiona?!' Marcus woke up with a start. He was in the supermarket, listening the the eerie silence around him. Fiona was there, still asleep in his lap. It was just a dream. But morning was close, so he didn't bother going back to sleep. Instead, he exited the supermarket, in hope of finding survivors. If only he had been wiser, and chose to attempt to stop the mad scientist in his tracks. He felt as if this was all his fault. He soon came across a horde of zombies, and muffled screaming. When the zombies scattered, a message was on the wall, written in what seemed to be marker. 'The end is nigh'. That was all to be read and all to be said. 'The end is nigh'

The next day was going too fast. When 'it' happened. Fiona and Marcus woke up, both hoping it was all a silly nightmare, but no. They were still in the supermarket, and Fiona was still wounded. Marcus left the supermarket. The zombies were trying really hard today. They battered the doors and smashed the windows. Eventually, the zombies broke in. They stormed the market, and Marcus, outside looking for survivors, was unaware of the current events. Fiona was gone. Marcus soon returned, only to find packs of zombies, exiting the supermarket. 'Fiona!' He screamed, as he sprinted back inside, only to find her corpse on the ground, and a note saying 'Dear brother, I know you tried, but we succeeded. I'm free now, free to do what I please. I know we will meet again in the future, but for now, farewell.' Droplets of blood scattered on the page. 'Fiona... My sweet sister... Gone forever...' Marcus was overwhelmed. 'Why did you have to go? It should've been me!' Marcus only thought one thing. 'The end is nigh'. Was that a coincidence, or was that poor soul warning others, about their terrible fate? 'Well, it does not matter. My existence fails to matter.' Marcus was distraught. 'Fiona can't be gone, she can't! She must be with me forever! It was destined to happen! This isn't right, this isn't real!'

Marcus was lost. 'Fiona... gone... I will never see her again... Never...' More hordes of zombies, more survivors lost. Marcus thought about something. All the feelings he'd experienced. Why was it him? Why? 'Hey, zombies! You want this? You want a piece of me? Well come on, come and get me!' Marcus did not realize what he'd done. All the zombies turned around at once. Marcus was doomed, but he was not scared. He finally got to see Fiona once more.

Denial- 'This isn't happening! Fiona!'.
Anger- He was enraged, annoyed and bothered he couldn't save Fiona.
Bargaining- 'It should've been me!'.
Depression- 'Well, it does not matter. My existence fails to matter.'
Acceptance- 'Fiona is gone... I will never see her again... Never...'
