LYRA
______"Amelie is throwing a fit over the pup," Dyami explained after he had rushed in to the house.
He was accompanied by Adam and surprisingly, Aspen. Aspen's jaw appeared bruised, that was slowly healing. His eyes were on Alexander, who was stood with his back to the kitchen counter, with arms crossed.
The men were in the kitchen, I was sat on the sofa, eyeing them curiously. After Alexander had told me Jessica's parents wanted revenge, the three men had appeared at our house immediately after. Given, it was barely ten in the morning, but again, werewolves didn't have or care for timing.
Alexander growled lowly, making me snap my head in his direction. "Amelie needs to mind her own business unless she wishes to pay her daughter a permanent visit," he snarled, his eyes darkened.
"I will take care of them," Aspen suggested, standing straight, hardly a couple of feet from my mate. "I have known her for many years, she is hardly angry because her daughter is dead. She is using that as a bait to get to Kai."
"What are you saying?" Alexander questioned, arching a brow.
Aspen sighed, running his hand over his face frustratingly. "Jess wasn't the typical she-wolf. She was rebellious, and did everything her parents told her not to. The relationship between them was more acquainted."
"Eh," Adam chimed in, looking and sounding very confused. "She was acquainted with her own parents? Just how twisted was this chick?"
I couldn't lie, the same thoughts ran through my head and I chewed on my bottom lip. I wasn't too sure why our lives suddenly seemed to revolve around a dead she-wolf that didn't even belong to the pack. But if that was going to have an impact on the safety of our pack, then it was to be taken seriously.
"She left home when she was hardly sixteen, and never returned or looked back," Aspen elaborated, shrugging. "Her parents kept bugging her and sometimes I wonder if she purposely threw herself at me to get her pregnant knowing her parents would leave her alone if she settled with her own family."
His words made me frown and honestly, almost feel sorry for Jessica. But she was already dead, there was no point having these feelings.
"Yikes," Dyami added, giving Aspen a weird look before he turned to Alexander. "What do you want to do?"
Alexander narrowed his eyes, as if he was occupied thinking about something before his features softened and he turned his head to meet my gaze.
Offering a small smile, he arched a brow before his voice filled my head as he mind-linked me.
'My Luna, what do you think?'
Surprised, my eyes widened slightly, before my brows twitched. 'You want my involvement?'
'Of course. This pack is yours just as it is mine. Enlighten me, what shall we do?'
A smirk almost covered my face at his words, but I tried to not let the excitement show as my eyes travelled over the other three men, whom were patiently waiting for my mate's words.
Adam was tapping his finger on his arm, waiting, but clearly running low on patience. Dyami, with narrowed eyes, was glancing between Alexander and I, probably suspecting the communication my mate and I just had. Aspen, on the other hand, glanced at me with a teasing smirk on his face, making me frown.
