Akaashi and Sakusa had only gotten closer from that night. They spent much time together during practice and on days off. Sakusa was happy to have him around, but the girls were especially happy.
There was a big game the following day and everyone had trained especially hard. They had all gone to Sakusa's house for a dinner party and everyone was driving him mad. The girls loved the rowdy atmosphere but he did not. They were messy. Too messy.
The only reason he was still pulling it together was that Akaashi kept reassuring him about things. He helped clean the dishes and wipe down counters. He assisted with the messes as quickly as he could. He was his peace for the night. If he wasn't there, he probably would have exploded already and kicked everyone out. When the night had finally settled down the boys had gone home. Akaashi had stayed behind to help do some aftermath cleaning.
"Akaashi?"
Akaashi had turned towards Sakusa who was standing at the end of the hall. He was getting ready to leave but with the hesitant look on Sakusa's face, he quickly fell concerned.
"What is it? What's wrong?" he questioned.
Sakusa frantically waved his hands, "Nothing's wrong. I just... I was wondering if maybe you wanted to stay the night? We have that game tomorrow and we could leave together."
Sakusa felt his heart beat outside of his chest. He suddenly got nervous. What was wrong with him? That's weird to ask if he wanted to stay the night.
"It would help with the girls! The sitter canceled," Sakusa exclaimed.
Sakusa twiddled with his fingers as he quickly came up with a reason for him to stay longer.
Akaashi thought for a moment, "I guess that makes sense. You need as much relaxation as possible for the game. I'm sure they can be a bit much sometimes. Yeah, I can stay over. Just let me get a few things from my place and then I'll come back."
Sakusa smiled, "Alright, I'll leave the door unlocked."
The second he was out the door, Sakusa quickly made his way to the living room and irrupted into excitement. The girls sat confused on the floor next to their toys. They've never seen their dad in such a way.
"What are you doing daddy?" Ichika asked.
Sakusa smiled, "Akaashi said he would stay the night with us."
Kaito exclaimed, "Really?!"
Sakusa nodded.
A sudden thought came to mind. He was brilliant.
"Girls, I'll be working out for tomorrow. When Akaashi gets here and he asks just tell him I'm down the hall," Sakusa raced upstairs.
Quickly he pulled off his shirt and went to the bathroom. Using one of the girls' spray bottles, he sprayed himself a few times before going to his equipment room. He jogged in place a few times before picking up one of the weights in the corner of the room. Practicing a few poses, he finally decided on one. Now, he must wait.
When Akaashi entered, he was welcomed by the girls and their excitement. A mess of DVDs lay on the floor in the living room. The girls claimed they were looking for a movie to watch. He looked around to see the house owner nowhere in sight. When he asked the girls, they giggled and told him he was down the hall. Kaito had assisted him to the room he was in and when he opened it he gasped in shock before placing a hand above his eyes.
There Sakusa was, sweaty, muscles flexing, as he lifted the weight with his right arm.
He could feel his face turning red. The sight unable to vanish from his mind, "I'm so sorry, I didn't know you were working out."
