I roll over with a sigh as I smack my phone to turn off the alarm.
I stare face up at the ceiling and shake my head.
Today is the day. Activity Day.
I roll my eyes at the memory of Beomgyu pestering me to join our team.
Why was he so adamant about joining? Isn't he aware of how much hate I will already be receiving just by being his study buddy? Then he wants to join my team!? Is he trying to start rumors or what, it can't be good for his company.
I mean, it's not like I have a problem with him, I simply don't want to get caught up in drama when I need to be focusing on my studies.

I finally decide to get out of bed and get myself ready for the day.
Since today is Activity Day, I decide to wear shorts and a loose shirt. It can get hot outside during days like these!

After getting ready I go downstairs and see Jaemin and Mom waiting in the car already through the window.
I quickly grab a banana and rush outside.
"Aish, hurry up~!" He says while turning off his phone and buckling up.
Our mom looks at me as I throw my backpack into the car and slam the door.
"Today is Activity Day, right?" She asks.
"Mhm." I nod my head as I take a bite of the banana.
"Ah~ Well, be careful. Don't hurt yourself, okay?"
"Yes." I say and give her a reassuring smile and thumbs up.
"What about me? Are you not going to tell me to be careful? You must want me injured." Jaemin says and folds his arms, sulking down into his seat.
Mom laughs out loud and lightly ruffles his hair. "Jaemin-ah! Please be careful as well!" She says loudly.
Jaemin smiles and leans closer to her.
"Jaemin-ah!" I say loudly. "Please fall down on the track and hurt your arm!"
"HYA!" He says and tries to hit me but I defend myself by hitting him back.
"Fine." He says and gives me a smug look through the mirror.
"Haha." I laugh and stick my tongue out at him.
Suddenly, he mashes the button on the side of the seat that lowers it backward.
"AH~!" I say as the seat hits my legs. "Stop!" I whine.
"You two both be nice to each other~" My mother says calmly while looking out for traffic.
I hit Jaemin's hand with my banana peel when I notice someone in the car beside us banging on their window.
I squint and lo and behold it's Beomgyu, who just witnessed me smacking my little brother with a banana peel while eating the banana that was in it.
He points at me and laughs dramatically, then circling his finger by his head indicating that I was crazy.
I turn away in embarrassment and sink down low in my seat.
Meanwhile he rolls down his window and begins to yell after me as the traffic begins to go again and we speed away.
"Aish." I mumble to myself while facepalming. "I'm never going to hear the end of this."

We finally arrive at school and thankfully Beomgyu hasn't gotten here yet.
I spot Seri and Kayoko and instantly run over to them, grabbing their arms and dragging them to the nearest janitors closet.
"Yah! What are you doing?" Seri demands.
"Yeah, why are we in here?" Kayoko asks while looking around with a mildly disgusted look on his face.
"You didn't steal anything, did you?" Seri asks in disbelief.
"Ah, no." I say clutching my chest for air, doubled over because of running.
"I had an embarrassing moment with Beomgyu just now, and I can't face him in class. He won't let me hear the end of it and I don't want to get caught up in drama." I explain.
"Ahh~" Kayoko says understandingly.
"Yes, it's best to limit interaction with him these days..." Seri agrees.
"We'll wait until the bell rings. That way, he can't speak to you before class." Seri says.
"Hm, smart." I say.
"What are we doing about Activity Day, though? I think Changwoo wanted to join our group..." Kayoko mentions while looking at Seri.
"Ugh!" She rolls her eyes and mumbles under her breath. "Why?"
"Well, I mean, where else is going to go?" I ask her. "You know how he is."
"Aish, this is giving me a headache." Seri responds while shooting nasty looks to the Lysol bottle beside her.
"I know, I know." She responds to me hurriedly. "If only he was a bit more, normal, I wouldn't have a problem with him." She says while biting her nails.
"Seri! Just because he likes you doesn't mean he's not normal!" Kayoko says and lightly hits her arm.
"Ugh." Seri sulks and I laugh.
"He's just a little awkward that's all." I say.
The bell rings just then and we rush to class.
We make it in and Ms. Kang is already talking. Everyone stops and looks at us once we open the door and walk in.
"You're late." Ms. Kang informs us.
"Really? No.." Seri comments sarcastically causing both Kayoko and I to hit her.
"Sorry, Teacher." I say and bow apologetically.
"Please take your seats. We were just discussing the schedule for Activity Day."
"Yes." I say and we all take our seats.
As soon as I sit down I feel a tap on my shoulder. It's from a fellow classmate who points to the back of the room. "Beomgyu wants you."
I turn my gaze in the direction to his seat and see him passing a note along to me.
I roll my eyes and grit my teeth. "Stop!" I whisper yell to him but he ignores me.
I turn back around and put my head in my hands.
He can't just leave me alone, can he?
"As I was saying," Ms. Kang resumes her speaking. "We will be dismissed by grade level and class to the courtyard and field, where you will find a sign up sheet and then place your team name and members..." She continues.
"Psst!" There's a tap on my shoulder.
I turn around and snatch the note out of his hand.
I look right at Beomgyu and crumple the note in my hand, staring into his eyes.
I turn back around and begin listening to the teacher.
Without turning around, I hear a mini-commotion occurring from where Beomgyu sits.
"Please take this time to discuss amongst yourselves who will be on what team." Ms. Kang says and there is a murmur in the room.
"Hey, should we let Changwoo join our group?" I ask the PS.
"Mhm." Kayoko nods his head and Seri sighs in agreement.
"Yah, Changwoo!" I turn around to face him.
"Hm?" He asks with his eyebrows raised.
"Do you want to be on our team?" I ask him.
"Uhm, I was kinda thinking about just sitting this whole thing out, but I guess, yeah, thanks!" He answers while nervously scratching the back of his neck and smiling up at me.
"Okay, great!" I say and turn around.
Seri, Kayoko, and I continue talking for a bit before the commotion in the back of the room suddenly grows oddly quiet.
The teacher didn't announce anything, so it's a suspicious silence.
I suddenly hear quiet shushes and scurries. Curious, I turn around to see a red-faced Beomgyu walking towards me.
"Erm...uhm, I-I was thinking that I should be on your team." He says while scratching the back of his neck and looking away.
I look around the room and see all eyes on us, even Ms. Kang peers up from her podium to witness Choi Beomgyu possibly get rejected for the first time in history.
I see the group of girls practically seething with jealousy and anger while staring me down.
I decide to play along.
"Sure. It's whatever." I casually say and flip my hair while turning back to my desk.
The room suddenly goes into an uproar.
Beomgyu's friends cheer him on as he confidently struts back to his seat.
I roll my eyes as I place my hand on my head.
"All right class. If we've all decided on our teams let's pack up our things and get ready for Activity Day." Ms. Kang says while flipping through papers on her podium.
"Yes~" The class responds promptly.
