Prologue

Phileo Boleoti also known as 'the black scavenger' is one of the two dukes of the empire.

He is unmarried which normally would mean he doesn't have any kids but that doesn't count with him.

Phileo has a child although he didn't want one a maid who was obsessed with him got him drunk.

She forced herself on him successfully impregnating herself, she didn't tell anyone she was having a baby till after the baby was born.

Everyone who saw the child could immediately tell the baby was Phileo's by the signature black hair.

It caused everyone to gossip until eventually, the news reached Phileo who was incredibly confused, he ordered the maid to bring the child to him and after a few tests, the child was confirmed to be his.

He killed the maid himself but Rupert convinced him to keep the child and have it raised to be his heir.

He agreed but completely neglected the child pushing it off onto the servants and Rupert.

Due to the extreme hate of illegitimate children(even though the child isn't illegitimate) in the empire, they (the child) were often abused (verbally, mentally, emotionally, and physically).

Even after trying to tell Phileo about the abuse he did not believe the child and told the child to never disrupt him again with such useless banter.

The child hated Phileo from then on and did everything in their power to make Phileo's life 100,000 times harder.

The abuse continued and the child was constantly told how Phileo hated them so as revenge the child had their only trusted maid burn down the estate successfully destroying everything.

Phileo searched for the culprit for days, he discovered it was the maid but not that she was asked to do it.

He murdered the maid in front of all the mansion staff to 'set an example.

They built another mansion in the exact same spot but bigger

Phileo Decides to adopt a child, after his old friend tells him about the joys of being a father
