'H-h-huh?' I thought opening my eyes.
'Where...where am I.' I thought confused, looking up at the blue sky above me.
"How did I get outside?" I asked myself.
'This is...this is so strange. One minute I'm in bed and the next I'm outside in a strange field.' I thought standing up, the long strands of grass tickling my legs.
"This is so weird." I muttered.
"Am I...am I dreaming?" I asked myself.
I must be that's the only logical explanation.
'But it feels too real to be a dream.' I thought as I felt the heat of the sun and light breeze hit my skin.
"Strange, this whole thing is strange but I kind of like it." I muttered kneeling down to pick a flower. I bought the flower to my nose and inhaled its sweet scent, the soft petals brushing against my cheeks. All was calm. All was right. I felt truly at peace here.
'If this is a dream then I'm going to enjoy it for as long as I can.' I thought closing my eyes contently.
I was happy truly happy. This dream or whatever it is a truly needed reprise from my normal chaotic life. I stood there enjoying the peace and quiet till I heard a strange sound. Like something was flying no falling from the sky. I opened my eyes and saw a big black object falling from the sky and onto the ground, a cry of pain filling the once peaceful quiet air assaulted my eardrums. Without even thinking I ran to where the mysterious creature had crash landed and when I got there, I was in shock. There before me laid in the field of squashed grass and flowers was a dragon. Its body was slim and its scales dark as night. I had never seen a dragon like it before and for some reason I was drawn to it.
My very first instinct was to run away from the scary, yet alluring creature and I almost did till I noticed that it was trapped in something. It let out heartbreaking cries for help. Sympathy and pity filled my heart. The dragon it looked so sad and in pain. No Agatha we've been over this. These dragons are dangerous creatures. Heartless soulless monsters. They've stolen our food, destroyed our homes they even took your mother away from you. You may not want to fight them, but you shouldn't want to help them either.
'I should just go before it notices me.' I thought about to walk away but stopped when it opened its eyes.
Its electric green eyes bore deep into my forest green eyes. Inwardly I groaned I couldn't leave it now. Hesitantly I walked towards the beast. It may be confined but it still holds a great amount of danger, especially for a small and frail girl like me. It let out a warning growl as I approached him. "Easy, easy." I said walking slowly towards him as to not scare him. "I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to help." I said slowly getting closer and closer. When I finally got to the dragon, I looked down at it and gulped nervously. Though bonded it still had a tremendous amount of strength and could easily kill me if it wished. Slowly and carefully, I knelt down and began to free the dragon, flinching every time it let out a sound.
It took me a while, but I was finally able to get the dragon free. However soon as I did it tackled me to the ground. I looked up at it fearfully, fighting to get free but it was no use. I was trapped underneath the beast. There was no way to escape from the claws that held me down. I closed my eyes waiting for my untimely demise, but it never came. Hesitantly I opened my eyes and saw the dragon and he was just staring at me. Just staring at me as if he was trying to figure something out. I started back at it swimming in its strangely beautiful eyes and suddenly felt calm again. I opened my mouth, wanting to say something but stopped when all of a sudden, the ground started to rumble and the whole world distorted till everything around me vanished, including the beautiful dragon and I was in a white void till suddenly a giant Monstrous Nightmare was in front of me, it's entire body on fire.
I was shocked and before I could even comprehend what was going on its jaws closed down on me swallowing me whole. Then my eyes flew open, and I saw that I was in my room, laying in my bed. Breathing heavily, sweat covering my body I couldn't help but feel immense relief seeing that it was all just a dream and just as my breathing got back to normal a loud screech suddenly filled the air causing me to fall out of bed in shock. Scrambling to my feet I ran to my bedroom window and saw absolute chaos outside. The dragons were attacking yet again. With slight hesitation I changed my clothes and ran outside to help even though I'd probably just end up doing more bad than good.
Little did I know though that this raid would be different from all the others. Because it was during this raid that I took down a dragon and not just any dragon but the offspring of lightning and death itself the Night fury.
To be continued
