You walked into your apartment building, it was small, but it was what you could afford at the moment with Benson. You had a "late" night shift you just got off. You popped out your phone and checked the time, it was 10:34, you wondered if Benson was already asleep.

You sent him a message saying "I'm in the building, I'll be there in a little while." While walking into the elevator.

You popped your phone into your pocket as the doors were closing. You waited till you got to your floor. Walking down the hall towards your door and you smelled something, burning? You rushed to open the door, fumbling with your keys.

You finally opened the door and to your surprise; Benson was cooking, or attempting to. Benson wasn't really the best at cooking, although he could make stale chicken wings taste good and some really bomb chili.

Benson gave you a crooked smile, "Hey Y/N, I didn't want you to see this mess.."

The table was all set and ready; forks, spoons, plates, and cups were set up neatly with an arrangement of flowers. Can't say the same about the kitchen, it looked like a mess; plates, spoons and knives piled up in the sink, the oven was covered in oil and grease, and the countertops just had so many things piled over them.

"Benson.. You tried to cook?" You gave him a gentle smile.

Benson nervously started, "Yeah, sorry if it's something you weren't ex-"

But you cut him off, "No, no, I think it's cute, we can cook together if you want."

"Really?" Benson's face brightened up.

"Of course, but first we should clean up." You went to the window to open it so smoke would go out.

Benson nodded and went to get the trash bin and put the burnt food in, it was completely black on one side and seemed to be raw on the other side.

You got a clean bowl and rinsed it off, just in case, you went to the cutting board and put the greens left over in the bowl, you then went to another bowl and put the bowl with greens next to it.

"Benson, can you clean the dishes and pans?" You asked him.

"Yeah, I can," giving you a nod.

You then picked up the cutting board and put it in next to the sink, alongside the pans from the dirty stove. You gave Benson a kiss who was washing the plates first. He turned slightly pink with a smile and sped up.

You started to clean off the countertops, making sure there weren't any mystery sauces or powders. It was quite easy, until you got to the stove. You started to clean off the top, it was sticky and.. green? You made sure it was nice and clean, including the knobs. Then you swept over the area.

"Okay, I'm done cleaning, are you done with the dishes?"

"Yep, should I close the window now?"

"Please do, it's getting chilly."

Benson closed the window and gave you a hug, "Okay, where do we start? This is my first time cooking, so I am giving you all my trust here."

"First we have to check what ingredients we have, I already put the leftover greens next to the other vegetables you haven't used." You smiled at him.

"Well, I burnt the meat I bought.." Benson said.

"Then how about we make your special chili," you held his hand, "and a salad, does that sound good?"

He held on to your hand with a firm grasp, "Alright then."

You both started to make chili together, the way he normally makes it. You got some eggs and another pot and put the eggs in to boil. Chili was practically easy to make for Benson, he didn't even have to pay that much attention to it. You pulled him over to where you were cutting up the vegetables.

"Do you see anything you don't want in your salad or anything I'm forgetting?" You asked

"No, this looks good already." He smiled, "I sorta want chicken bites though.."

"Then we can make some. There should be chicken in the refrigerator to the left." You stated

"Okay, do I leave it out?" He asked

"Yes please, leave it in the sink in a bowl or plate if you can and rinse hot water over it, leave it in the packaging too." You stated

After a while of preparing everything and finally cooking the chicken you got to finally put it all together into two plates, although you sort of made too much chili and chicken bites. Benson took you away from the kitchen and sat you down. He put on some nice gentle music and brought you your plate and then his. He brought you wine to the table and poured some into a wine glass for you.

You smiled at him and giggled a bit, "You're such a gentleman."

"I try my best for you," he flustered at the comment.

You gave him a kiss before he sat down and started to eat, "Thank you for cooking with me today."
