Wanda is irritated. No, she is furious. Furious and hot.

She could barely focus on work after what you did to her today. Or rather, what you didn't do.

Living the entire day on autopilot, the redhead can't ignore the anger that builds inside of her at the image of you with that mean, stupid smirk on your face.

But if you're thinking that this will go unpunished, you are sorely mistaken.

-----

Nat has been promoted at work and you couldn't be happier for her. But your aunt is planning to throw a party to celebrate and the idea is not very appealing to you.

Since the day at school, you and Wanda haven't talked, much less seen each other. The redhead always seems to give an excuse not to come to your house when Nat invites her, and you always make up an excuse not to accompany Nat when Wanda invites her to her house.

But with this party, seeing Wanda was inevitable and you didn't know what it would be like. Part of you didn't want to see her, still upset with her and her stupid date. But the other part couldn't stand the longing and the desperate urge to see the redhead again. Your fear was about which of these parts would stand out.

"Apparently there are 23 guests." You say examining the spreadsheet you and Nat have spent the last hour putting together. "24." Your aunt corrects and you frown.

"It's 23, look." You say, pointing to the laptop screen and going over the names of each guest. "You didn't add Steve." She comments after you finish reading and the guy's name makes you clench your jaw.

"I didn't know he was coming." You say, trying to disguise the anger that rises through your body and warms your neck. "Yeah, Wanda's bringing him. Isn't that great?" Nat says with an excited smile and you nod, a small, forced smile on your face.

"Splendid." You say through clenched teeth and type the name into the spreadsheet harder than necessary, making the keyboard crackle under your fingers.

You couldn't believe that Wanda would bring the guy. To your house. She knew you would be there. Did you mean so little to her that she didn't care how you'd feel like when you saw her with him like that? Or was she just doing it to make you jealous? Whatever it was, it was mean.

But your annoyed frown flares up as an idea crosses your mind. "Hey, can I invite Robin?" You ask, and Nat looks at you with a knowing smirk. "I guess that will be 25 then."

You giggle and type the blonde's name, an eager smile on your face as you imagine what this party will be like.

-----

You and Nat spent a few hours organizing the yard to receive the guests and you both smile proudly at the result. It was simple, but it was beautiful and comfortable.

The both of you go to your rooms to get ready for the party and it is impossible to ignore the way your stomach turns with anxiety.

When you invited Robin and told her about the plan to make Wanda jealous, she readily accepted. Her lack of hesitation made you laugh. When you commented that you were worried about her morals, Robin retorted that she loved the drama, which made you laugh some more.

To be honest, the idea of making her jealous on purpose didn't appeal to you very much. But if that was the game Wanda wanted to play, you would be a more than active player in the match.

When you come downstairs, Nat is not ready yet. So when some guests arrive, it's you who welcomes them and guides them into the backyard. You make small talk for a while and are thankful that Wanda wasn't the first one to arrive.
