Present Day~
"Mom, my pants are too big again," I yelled as I was attemping to get dressed.
Me and my friends were going to the movies to see the new movie Despicable Me.
"Annabell, honey, you have shrunk 3 sizes in a month! What in the world is wrong with you? Is that a bruise," she asked as I began to change my pants.
I looked to where she was pointing and sure enough, there was a big, green-brown bruise on the outside of my thigh. It wasn't there yesterday. Was it? I hadn't noticed it.
"Good God that wasn't there yesterday," I said as I examined it more.
"Are you sure hun?" She asked as I put my Miss Me Shorts on.
"Yeah, pretty sure about that mom." I said aggitated.
"Well come down and eat, you didn't eat supper so you must be hungry," she said as she started towards the door.
"Actually, I'm not. I'll eat a slice of toast though," I said as she looked at me worriedly.
She nodded her head and closed my door, exposing my One Direction posters and shelf of merchendise. I laughed to myself as I looked at my poster of my 'daddy'. Daddy Direction that is, not my biological father. No, he walked out on us when I turned 4. I've not seen him for 14 years now. Soon to be 15, in about 3 months on my birthday. I'll be 19 and on my way to Harvard for the fall.
I finnished getting dressed, applied a little bit of make-up. Blush, eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, and chose lip gloss to apply after my toast.
I made my way through the hall and down the stairs. I got half way down the circular, metal stairs when I suddenly got really hot. So I went to the kitchen and sat down at the counter to eat my toast.
"Hey, mom. Will you check me for a fever," I asked as I took a bite of my toast. Perfect, Lightly toasted, just enough butter, and the right amount of jelly.
"Sure hun, why," she asked as she placed her hand to my cheeks and forhead. I shrugged my shoulders and took another bite of heaven.
"Well you certainly have a fever hun. Don't do anything crazy today to make it worse," she advised. I nodded.
"Ok mom, thanks. Love you. Bye." I said as I kissed her cheek and abandoned my half-eaten toast. I can only take so much heaven in one sitting.
*After the movie. Back at home*
"Mom," I moaned, signaling for her to check my fever again.
"Hun, its gotten worse. Do you feel fine?" She asked now really worried.
"No. I've been really fatigued all day, I've not been hungry at all, and I'm swollen right here," I said as I pointed to my neck, right at my jawbone though.
"Sweetie, thats your Lymph Nodes. I think we need to go to the hospital," she said as she pushed me out the door to her car.
On the way there I kept asking why It was so urgent to go to the hospital. But she didn't answer me.
Instead she took me to get my blood drawn. When they did she took me straight to the waiting room while we waited for the results. I have no clue whats going on and she won't give me any kind of answers.
After about 4 hours sitting in the waiting room, the doctor comes in.
"Ms.Riner?" She asked. Me and My mom walked straight to her. Finally some answers.
"Ms. Annabell, you have Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia."
