Sound the bells, the day has come So, gather around everyone.
Dingle marries Woodfield at the church at 2
And everyone's invited, and yes that means you
So, zip up your dress, Put on your best suit, This is where a family will lay its roots
By Harriet, of course, the service is led Where the Emmerdale brides will finally wed
Ones feeling nervous, afraid the other won't come But that slips away when her hairs finally done
She looks in the mirror and likes what she sees Then takes the kids to the toilet for last minute wees
Bride number two is ready on time, Holding back tears with a bottle of wine
She's sat with her friends when along comes a carriage This time it's for her, for her very own marriage
She oohs and she ahhs and she runs out the door, She's been calm all morning, but not anymore
She climbs up the steps and takes to her seat, Then it's off to the church where her bride she will meet.
The weather is lovely, there's not a cloud in the sky She takes out a tissue and dabs at her eye
"I Can't ruin my makeup" she says with a laugh As the horses take off and the neighbours; they pass
Bride number one has already arrivedA barrel of nerves. She's waiting inside.
As she stands at the altar, feeling weak in the kneeShe hears a friendly reminder telling her to breathe
Noah stands beside her, excited to give her away, Cause it's official, he'll get another mother today
Music begins, the door opens wide This is it, it's finally time
The guests all stand and glance over their shoulders, They gasp as they see her, Charity's bowled over
Vanessa; she walks with a spring in her step, After three years of adventure, it's onto the next
She beams at her friends, and whispers 'Hello', As she glides down the aisle to a song titled Yellow.
When their eyes finally meet, neither of them cry, Too happy for tears, they feel butterflies inside.
We're gathered here today to celebrate the marriage,Of two women in love, in this very parish
Throughout the ceremony the brides make eyes, Longing to touch as hands brush at their sides
When it's time for the vows, Harriet begins "Charity, do you take Vanessa?", everyone grins.
Charity nods until the words follow through. She turns to her bride and tells her "I do"
Vanessa repeats her with an 'I do' of her own, When she's asked if she takes charity, her loves only grown
"Then I pronounce you Mrs and Mrs"And the church fills with love, cheers and kisses
Hand in hand they leave together, Sharing a name, they'll treasure forever
Vanessa shivers, her whole body a tingle "I love you" she says, "and I love you, Mrs Dingle"
Outside of the church confetti is thrown, Until a moment arrives where they can sneak off alone
They let themselves in through the side door at the Woolpack And giggling they fall onto the sofa out back
Like many times before they touch and they kiss, And decide after all to give the party a miss
But in the bar waits a reception,And Paddy walks in to quickly collect them
Red cheeked and stuttering, he averted his eyes, But what he had found came as no surprise
"They're all waiting for you, it's time to cut the cake" But the brides laugh it's their prerogative to be late
Finally, they grace their friends with their presence, And a toast is made and they're showered with presents
A mic is switched on and someone shouts "Speech"So, the brides walk over, leaving their seats
As Charity stands there and silence is created, She glances round the room and pictures everyone naked.
"Just look at me" Vanessa whispers in her ear. Charity turns to face her and let's slip a tear
"I can't believe we did it. I am finally your wife. Best believe you're stuck with me for the rest of your life"
"And I know I've been promised to many a fella, But everything changed when I met you in the cellar"
"And it came as a surprise to you all, I can bet. When I fell for Vanessa Woodfield, local vet."
"It's crazy right? Who would've knew? But, tiny blonde rocket woman here's to you"
'Cheers' they shouted then everyone danced, All but the brides who remained in a trance
But that didn't last, no there's a stern propositionNess must drink from the welly, it's Dingle tradition
The dirty old boot was filled up with aleAnd ness threw it back, no she'd never fail
"Dingle, Dingle" they all shouted at her, And Charity fell into a barrel of laughter
Now she was one of them, a Dingle at lastThis night was surreal, it went by so fast
Charity kissed her, and their lips locked together,Vanessa swooned, "this is the best day ever"
The best day ever? Well, it was in for the running, After a beautiful wedding that no one saw coming.
So, let's hear it for the brides on their special day, To Charity and Vanessa, hip hip hooray.
