26 Days

For there was no afterlife in the words that promised forever breath and memories, for such a thing was unheard of.

Isn't it funny how the world ceases to amaze those who are competent of viewing it for what it really is? Shamelss and deceitful. The people who lie to protect themselves are the most disturbing of all for they view nothing as the truth, since for them, it simply does not exist.

Day 1: A note on the table with the first of fables, "Ill be home soon. Love, Baekhyun."

Chanyeol waited for days for the older male to come home.

Day 5: A body stumbling into the apartment drunk and disorientated.

"Where were you?" Chanyeol asks.

"Just trying to relax.." Baekhyun replies.

Chanyeol believes him. He loved him after all. Nothing could break that, right?

Day 7: Apartment doors that open to reveal a smaller male sprawled across the floor surrounded by booze containers to which Chanyeol can't find it in himself to be surprised. Baekhyun's body was his own home for destruction and he understood that nothing would stop him from returning it to its rightful foundation.

He still loved him though nonetheless, which is how he found himself picking up the smaller male, wiping the vomit from his mouth, helping him into some cleaner pajamas and allowing him to take his bed while Chanyeol slept on the couch.

Nothing could break their love, right?

Day 26: "Ill wait for you, my love. I'm sorry I wasnt there enough to say it, I love you," Baekhyun writes on the note that tells Chanyeol that Baekhyun remembered, that he cared, that all this time he had heard Chanyeol even when his pleas of help were silent.

"I'll see you soon, my love. I'm sorry that my words got lost among your thoughts, I love you too," Chanyeol writes on the note that tells the world that his love is unbroken and that the lies were just a side affect.

A side affect from falling too hard and not being able to make his way through the blurred thoughts that kept him from seeing clearly.

I am sorry your heart is no longer the same but when you see him again, tell him that I am sorry.

That I wish I had not believed in your words even if the obliviousness eased my soul and made it easier to breathe because your loss was one that I felt in the deepest parts of my life.

The spaces where the darkness thrived and dared to eat my words and spit them out laced with posion were frightened to speak the words aloud themselves but I shall say it because I believe you deserve a second chance, the truth that you hid so well behind false emotion.

Nothing could break our love, right?
