"It looks like a rip off of that one brand- what is it? BroDude?" I whispered, leaning over towards Katy. She immediately smirked, "That's exactly what I said."
The girl standing in front of us, under the banner I was looking at, looked agitated. "Alright, who the fuck is this?" She was looking at Katy, but was pointing at me. Katy looked over at me before looking back to the girl. "Tanis, this is Oli. Olivia." Katy informed her.
"Just Oli." I quickly added, preferring the nickname.
The girl, Tanis, looked me up and down for a few moments before looking at Katy with wide eyes. "You're telling me this is Shoresy's piece?"
I couldn't help but frown ever so slightly as I looked down over myself. "Do you have a problem with that?" My words came out a bit more harsh than I intended them to. Tanis stepped forward, once more looking me up and down. "Wait a minute, I know yous." She paused, "You're the girl from the locker room. At championships."
I simply nodded my head, not bothering to speak my answer. Her eyes narrowed ever so slightly before she nodded her head. "Not what I expected."
Walking up to the produce stand, it was hard to miss the scowl that came over Wayne's face. With my hands shoved down into my pockets, I walked over to where Katy sat, soaking in the sun.
"Something wrong Wayne?" I questioned, looking at him once again. He said nothing, turning his head before taking a drink of the Puppers in his hand. "What's wrong with him?" I asked now looking to Katy.
"He doesn't like the company you keep." Katy said with a sigh. I watched as she leaned forward in her seat. Turning her head, she looked back at Wayne before looking to me once again.
"What's so wrong with it?" I spoke, looking at Wayne once more. Wayne took another drink of the Puppers before finally looking at me. "Bit of a snake." Was all he said. "Yous deserve better." Dan added in.
Stepping around Katy's chair, I walked over to where I was standing in front of Wayne, looking down at him. I crossed my arms over my chest. "You've never met him!" I argued. He shrugged his shoulders ever so slightly. "Heard plenty."
"What the hell is your problem, Wayne?" I growled out.
Instead of answering me, he simply turned his head to the side and looked away. Feeling the anger that swept through my body, I had even realized I had moved. The sting of the reverberation of the smack swept through my hand.
"Screw you, Wayne." Turning on my heel, I walked away from him.
The party was now in full swing. Wayne, Dan, and Dary were all sitting at the bar. Reilly and Jonesy had come in with two nearly identical girls named Tassie and Cassie.
I was sitting on a bar stool a few down away from where Wayne, Dan, and Dary were sitting. I had my back to the bar and a Puppers clutched in my hand. Katy was sitting between myself and the three men, while Rosie had gone to stand with Wayne.
Shoresy had yet to appear. Well, he might be here, I just hadn't seen him yet.
I was listening to some girl talk to Dary in French, when I saw Shoresy walk in. Dary had just asked her to speak English when Shoresy came over and put his arm around my shoulders.
Tyson and Joint boy followed along behind him and stood at the bar next to us. The three of them seemed to constantly be together since they were all on the same beer league team.
"Getting more and more brave every day, aren't you? I can't tell if those are shorts or if you decided to just wear your underwear here." He spoke soft enough that I was the only one to hear him. I couldn't help but smirk as I looked up at him. "Well, I did choose this outfit with other things in mind."
