It was a beautiful night at Crossway Street: The moon was still high up and the stars glittered in the sky. The wildlife was still sleeping and trees blew from the soft breeze. But, a certain girl woke up from her sweet slumber and started her day not knowing what was to come.

I woke up at 4 a.m. feeling light-headed. Heck, I don't know why but I decided to just let it pass and grab some water from the kitchen. I stood up from my bed and walked out of my bedroom. I grabbed a glass, filled it with water, and drank it slowly. It was too dark in here so I turned on the lights not expecting a man sitting on the single couch.

"Good morning, darling-", "Who the fuck are you?" I said, petrified out my mind. Who the fuck is this guy and what is he doing in my house? I grabbed a knife and pointed it at him, "Who are you and what are you doing in my house?" I yelled. "Woah, hey I'm sorry for intruding! I didn't think you'll react this way," He yelped, "Well, get the fuck out here dude before I stab you!" I proceeded to threaten him and signal the door. He got the hint and stood up from the couch before he stopped himself and said, "What's your name darling?-", "Get out!"

Lord, give me strength. He still didn't leave and stared at me like a creep. "Hello? I told you to leave dude!" I said. He still didn't move and kept looking at me. He's weirding me out to the point that I want to call the cops. On second thought, I should've called them a long time ago. Out of nowhere, he walked up to me and lowered the knife I had. I didn't give it a second thought and stabbed his side. He cried out and fell backward while I just stood there shocked at what I had just done. The knife was still in my hands so I'm pretty sure he'll lose a lot of blood because of that.

"Hey, are you okay?" I frantically asked. I winced every time curses flew out of his mouth when I tried to cover his wound. "Okay, can you sit up?" I asked. "I think so," he said trying to sit up. "Just to let you know, I don't know how to heal wounds like these so we gotta go to the hospital," I said and helped him up to his feet. He put pressure on his wound and followed me to my car. It was a present from my older brother since he didn't want to keep dropping me off at school whenever he had to work early. I soon started driving and googled a hospital near us.

We arrived at the hospital and walked up to the receptionist. She looked up and gasped as soon as she saw him and called the other doctors. They soon rushed him to a room and the receptionist interrogated me. Later, I had to wait for him to get operated on before I can go and see him. I passed the time by scrolling through my phone and listening to music until they called me up. The doctor told me I can go see him after he gets some rest but I have no time for that, so I left telling them to call me when he woke up.

Good thing it was during the weekend or I would've been in a lot of trouble with my siblings: Basically, they could care less if I missed school but it's sometimes annoying whenever the school pesters them about me missing another school day. So, I'd rather keep these problems to myself thank you very much. They have dealt with enough after I left my parents' household.

Finally, I arrived home and collapsed onto my bed, "I hope no one minds me taking a nap for a bit." It's been a long day and I think I deserve it.

"Never, ever forget who you are... Never, ever forget what you are destined for... Your purpose... Never, ever..."

"Wake up."

After I woke up, I waited for my sister to come home from work so she can start cooking because I'm starving! Also, the hospital still hasn't called me yet, so I believe either that guy is dead or he knows better than to bother me. Anyway, I could care less about him. I mean, he broke into my house believing I wouldn't defend myself and proceeded to act like we're in twilight! What fuck is wrong with that dude? Seriously, this man needs help.
