It seemed unnatural, unless going back was the only way to truly go foward His mind flashed momentarily to the teeth chattering grind that arose years earlier when he was learning the high art of driving a stick shift. Fear, Failure, and embarrassment in a horrible second.
Braden took the last bite of his burger in a single inhale and followed it with what remained of his sweet tea, the straw emanating a wet staccato, as the last of the tea was replaced with icee air. Another ending, maybe a disguised beginning, either necessary, buth reluctantly unwanted.
