Mark was shocked to know that Donghyuck was now a girl. As far as he remembered, Donghyuck never showed signs of not being happy about his gender. But again, Mark and Donghyuck hadn't seen each other for years. Many things must've happened during those years. Donghyuck matured and found out who he was.

"Are you feeling awkward with me?" Dongsook asked after she witnessed how quiet Mark was.

"No, not at all. I'm awkward with anyone!"

Realizing, that he didn't fix the situation even a bit, Mark started sweating.

"I lost my communication skills," he tried over again. "So, I don't know what to say."

"When we texted, you seemed okay."

"I'm a writer, I always write better than I speak, Donghyuck– I mean, Dongsook!"

Dongsook giggled, making Mark's bisexual (or more like pansexual...) heart question if it wasn't the right time to stop thinking about guys only.

"Okay, then! I'll try to do everything to get the boy I know back!"

Dongsook suggested a restaurant she knew and Mark gladly agreed. He felt like the news about Dongsook's gender shocked him so much that even the biggest portion of food would be nothing to him.

Secretly he watched how Dongsook was walking, doing things. The longer he looked, the more he realized that the person he observed was only half of the one he knew before. Dongsook was feminine and wore a dress, no shorts, masculine or unisex clothing, just the dress that looked like it was made for her. She walked gracefully, far away from the careless boy Donghyuck. The only similarity was that Dongsook was as talkative as Donghyuck.

"I used to hang out with my friends in that shop over there," Dongsook pointed at the clothing shop. "We could spend hours there and still not find anything we want. Or on the opposite – find so much stuff that can make us broke."

Mark just nodded as he didn't know what to say. He was more interested in the way Dongsook's voice sounded. His old friend Donghyuck had an unusual voice timbre which now worked very well on Dongsook. Mark was sure he still could hear the traces of Donghyuck when Dongsook was speaking which made his heart warm.

They reached the restaurant and Mark faced more psychological problems. As he was used to hanging out with dudes, he, unbothered, sat on the chair right away. He then saw Dongsook struggling with the chair and the purse that tried to slip from her shoulder and panicked. Mark jumped on his feet and prepared the chair for Dongsook, earning a gasp from her.

"Thanks, but you don't need to act like a gentleman. We're friends."

"No, that's okay," Mark shook his head. "How can I sit and watch when a girl is struggling?"

Dongsook smiled that Mark understood her. The way he called her a girl let her know that Mark accepted her as a person.

They sat across each other and that was the moment when Mark could finally see Dongsook's face properly. All he could think of at that time was that Dongsook was pretty. She had make-up on her face but it looked natural. She used it only to make her attractive facial features stand out.

"Mark?" Dongsook waved in front of the guy's face. "What should we order?"

"Oh," Mark let out an awkward laugh, blaming himself for getting carried away. "Let's see..."

Mark opened the menu to look for food suggestions but instead saw words with no meaning. It only let him know that he could barely concentrate. The restaurant wasn't at fault there, neither was Dongsook. It was Mark who couldn't stop thinking that his crush was now transgender. He still couldn't believe that he didn't notice any signs from his friend when the latter was sometimes feminine back in the university too. Even when they texted the day before! Dongsook was passing cuteness through the text which wouldn't be done by someone into toxic masculinity. And his social media accounts! They were all abandoned as Donghyuck was practically dead.
