“Next station is, sapperton.” Rang the out the robotic words of the sky train speaker. I had two more stops before getting off. I looked out the window, at the cold world racing past me. My fake leather jacket made that plastic breaking sound as I looked back at the people around me. There was a couple of giggling, snickering children with their annoyed mother. Who just seemed tired of the same, squeaky voices every day. There was some fat sweaty guy making weird grunting noises every time the train jerked, and a tall slender young man in a plaid shirt waiting at the door. As soon as the train’s doors opened a young woman comes running in, squealing loudly she jumps into the tall guys arms. He carried her out of the train as she went babbling on about how much she missed him. They seemed so happy together. Their love seemed so effortless, so real. I shook my head, stop being so cheesy I reminded myself.
God how I was lonely.
