Chapter One

"Hey, guys! We can't do this!" Eddie yelled, adding to the already loud commotion of voices. The losers club stood outside their local Drugstore, where Eddie got his medicine. They huddled close together and argued with each other. "Do you want alcohol for Bill's party or not?" Stan asked, his eyes rolled at the smaller boy. Eddie huffed, "No, Stan! I specifically agreed to no alcohol!" His voice squeaked in comparison to his.

Richie pushed away from the group to Eddie. "You don't have to drink, Eds. But we want to, and who cares if we steal some? We won't take a lot!" Eddie's angry face stared up at Richie's in thought. "As long as i get to stay outside." He sighed. Mike popped his head out from the back of the group, "Stay outside?" He questioned, "You're the bait."

Eddie slipped inside the store. The bell dinged as the door swung open. "Welcome!" A man said from the back. Eddie breathed in sharply and bit his lip in fear. He turned his head back to the clear doors and gave a sad face to Richie, who just smiled and put a encouraging thumbs up.

Another sharp breath escaped from Eddie, as he walked to the Pharmacy Counter. Mr Keene turned around and gave a small smile as he saw Eddie walk up. He rested his hands on the counter, "Hiya, Eddie. Picking up the usual?" Eddie slowly turned his head back to the door, and back. He closed his eyes for a brief second and sighed. "No, um. I need something in the back, Mr. Keene."

Mr. Keene gave a surprised face and took his hands off the surface. "What do ya' need, Eddie?" Eddie swallowed his anxiety. "I-I don't know. My mom said you left it for me. It's in the back. S-she said it's called," He paused to look at his wrist that had a medicine name smudged in sharpie. " Am- amitript- a- line." He sounded it out. Mr. Keene's face darkened.

"Now, boy, what you have to use that for? You sure that's what she said?" Eddie nodded slowly. "I get really sad sometimes." He said low, trying to make it believable. Meanwhile, the rest of the losers snuck in the back door and reached the alcohol section of the small store, grabbing bottles and bottles of the stuff. They clinked together, making Mr. Keene avert his eyes to the back momentarily, but Eddie went on, "It's the nights that are the hardest." He fake sniffled. "Don't worry, bud. We'll take care of this for you." He firmly nodded and started walking to the back of the pharmacy. Once his back was turned, Eddie dashed out of the store to meet with the rest of the losers.

Richie held two bottles of beer in his hands, Bev and Bill held vodka, and the rest held more. Eddie ran behind them, trying to catch up. He gasped for breath as they all ran. "H-holy c-crap-p!" Bill yelled, his hair blowing up in the wind. "What a rush! That idiot has no idea!" Richie yelled, laughing along with the rest of them. Bev laughed loudly, "Eddie's our hero!" She looked to the back of them for Eddie, stopping when She saw Eddie way farther behind than them.

"Guys, stop." She said. They stopped running and turned their head.Richie groaned, "Eddie, you puss. Keep running! He could be behind us!" Stan raised his head to look at the empty street in front of all of them. "That old man probably could never keep up." Stan put his hand on Eddie's shoulder. "Thanks for being our bait." The group nodded. Eddie smiled and took a puff of his inhaler. "You're welcome. I don't condone this, but it was fun." Richie scoffed at him, "You're so lame, Kaspbrak." Eddie rolled his eyes, "You're even lamer, Tozier."

Fast forward to Bill's party. Bill's parents weren't home and that was the whole reason they were having this. Bev laid down on a loveseat, a cigarette in her mouth, Ben sat on a chair by the door reading a book, Stan and Bill sat on a couch playfully arguing with each other, and Mike, Richie, and Eddie stood in the kitchen.

"Not too fast or it'll run away!" Eddie yelled at Richie, who grasped the plastic side of a kitchen broom close to the wall, in front of a giant brown recluse spider. "Do you wanna do this, Eds?!" He screamed back at him. Mike stood behind Eddie, nervously biting his lips. Richie slowly inched the broom toward the spider. Eddie gasped, "Richie, careful!" He frantically yelled at him, causing Richie to blow up again. "I hate spiders! I fricking hate spiders! Eddie you know I hate spiders!"
