As dawn broke next morning, men hustled and shouted, loaded a long line of vans with crates of fish from the fishing boats at the Harbour at Tidmouth, this train is known as 'The Flying Kipper'. Henry waited patiently as the kipper was loaded, when Arthur coasted in with several vans, he was covered in soot and his steam was black.
"You alright Arthur?" Asked Henry, anxiously.
"Not really. This new coal, it's awful. When the hell will the Coalry at Crosby be reopened?" The Ivatt tank looked back at Henry's long train. "Do you need some help Henry? I'd gladly help you, even with my condition."
"Thanks, but I'll manage." Henry's guard's whistle blew, and the big green engine left, but as he did so, Splatter smiled to himself in a nearby siding. Diesel noticed this but he was called away before he could investigate.
Meanwhile, Henry was flying down the line, smoke and steam poured out from his funnel. He rushed through empty stations, green signals glowing as he passed.
He passed Percy with the mail train, startling him from his daydream, through Wellsworth while Edward slept.
But as he passed through Cronk, danger lay ahead. One moment he was pounding the rails, the next his wheels jumped on the sleepers, before tipping over on his side, his vans stayed upright and continued for a short distance. Thankfully his crew had been thrown into a nearby field, with only a few bruises to show their adventure.
Henry laid dazed and confused, a gruff but somewhat familiar laughing sound. Someone that Henry didn't want to see again.
Later that morning, Gordon, James, Arthur, Murdoch, Bear and Jinty were awoken up to Henry's damaged rods clanking and clanging after being placed back on the rails, being dragged by Alfred. Mr. Conductor climbed out of Alfred's cab and walked up in front of the engines, still in his pyjamas.
"Good morning everyone." Mr C said.
"Morning sir." Murdoch, and Bear both said.
"As you all can clearly see, Henry is damaged after a nasty accident this morning."
"What happened?" Asked Jinty.
"While taking the kipper, I came off the rails." Henry sighed, regretfully.
"When I brought the breakdown train to the site, one of the men noticed the rails had been topped onto their sides. Like they'd moved on purpose." Said Alfred. The engines looked across from one another, possibilities for this being a deliberate accident were high.
"Thanks for that, the both of you." Smiled Mr C, "Now, I've been forced to reassign Heney's work. Alfred, you Alice and James will all share Henry's work, since Thomas' branch is currently closed for redevelopment, Thomas and Percy will help with utility work while Daisy helps on Edward's branch care of passenger work and Toby takes care of maintenance trains on the Ffarquhar branch. Keep on high alert, just in case."
Mr.C then turned away, headed for the station.
"So, what's going to happen with you Henry?" Asked Gordon.
"I'm to be repaired here since Crovan's Gate is being re-equipped, while Harvey and Derek are too busy with maintenance work besides, the damage isn't too bad, apparently." Sighed Henry.
Mr. C walked back to Sir Tophams Office, deep in thought. With Henry out of action and the Works being reequipped, there was more work for the others to cope with, even with the extra help from the Ffarquhar Trio.
Thankfully BoCo would be collecting spares for Henry on his way back from the other railway, all that had to be done was get some workmen to repair enry so he could get back to work.
