Bryce Anderson is an aspiring musician. Down-on-his-luck with an unsupportive family and crippling unmotivation, he sneaks out one night and never looks back.
With nothing but his journal full of lyrics and a dream, he takes on the world one song at a time.
Things grow more difficult, however, as six-year-old Lonnie Fields is forced under his guidance. Meanwhile, a thief (and fellow teen runaway) with a vendetta against the duo is hot on their trail. Day by day, the dream seemingly grows further and further out of reach.
