When I pull up to Natacha's little shack by the swamp, she is already on the porch smiling with a cup of coffee in her hand. She is little old dark woman. She maybe 4'11 at most and is probably in her 60, I say 60 because anyone who knows her said she has been around since Marie was alive, but I think its just rumor. Her family is a very powerful family. She knows what you need before you do and entertaining to watch as a child with her patients. Never fun when try to sneak out tho. I get out and give her a hug,

"Oh,Cherie, its been to long, let me get a look at you." Natacha said.

She moves back and looks me over. Over the scars have lighten some, but if you seen them before you know they are there.

"Shaving your head to change your look only works if you change hair color too."

"Listen, I have been back for 3 months, this is New Orleans, one of my neighbors who lived there longer than me asked if I was new tenant. No one notices that its me, Manman."

She chuckles,

"Come on in, I'm pretty sure, you have already burned through that danish and Hot pockets." She said as she walks back into her house.

It's just as remember. Deities, photos of her family, protection everywhere, bookshelves full of book I have read a million times. Smell of dragon's blood and sage. She motions for me to sit as she pours me a bowl of cajun potato soup, which always my favorite. She sit down in the seat across me and lights a cigarette,

"Something told me you would be coming by and figure why not make her favorite rainy day food on a rainy day." she said as she exhales.

"Oh my goddess, Manman, so good." I say with a mouth as I tear a piece of bread from the loaf of homemade French bread she made.

"I made that this mornin too." She said with a chuckle.

I finish the bowl in record time. I lean back and rub my stomach,

"Oh that hit the spot." I say with a satisfying sigh.

I take my case out and pull out a joint and light it. i inhale then offer it to Natacha, she takes I speak as I exhale.

"So, I'm sure you know why I'm here?" I ask.

She nods as she pass it back, she exhales

"The hag's great-granddaughter spoiled her useless child."

"Pretty much. What do you know about her?"

"She was a dark witch, possibly one of the darkest of the time. She had a book and a map to said book. It is suppose to hold unmeasurable power. She was being hunted which is why she hid the book and left the map with her family."

"What do you know of the demon Daezi?"

She looks at as if she has seen a ghost for the first time.

"More than I wish I did. He is one awful fucker. Old one too. He only wants power and mayhem. He claims he needs a body to give what he wants and then the moment you agree and bring him one, it's you who he posseses and defiles the body you bring with your body."

"Fuck. Her kid is really stupid then."

" Rowana's son Morningstar?"

" Yeah, he stole the map to go find the book."

"He was better off get one of his little vampire friends in the quarter to do it, that would given him all that without the demon part."

"Wow, even rich witch kids are stupid."

Natacha laughs and shakes her head.

"Yeah, but now you gotta find him before hell breaks loose."

" Honestly, I don't know where to start. The dumbass is in the wind and half of his little buddies are more coked up than girl at Mardi Gras. "

"Well, what I can tell you, is talk to Father Tamlin, child. He will be able to tell what you need to know."

She's right, but I really didn't want to go see him. I have been avoiding him since I got back. Jasmine is his niece and promised to protect her.

"I don't think he will. I'm pretty sure he hates me and would rather blow my head off than talk to me."

Natasha stands, walk over to her coffee pot,

"I think that man hates God, more than anything else, so, trust me, go talk to him."

I nod taking the advice, she has never steered me wrong.

Around 7 I say goodbye and head to back to see Father Tamlin before Raoul.
