charli didn't know what to do. she felt stuck. he stood 2 feet away from her naked body. well the body that would be naked if the towel happened to fall.
conrad was stuck. he knew how he felt around charli but would he risk the entire summer just to do something with her? he just saw her body completely naked, her at her absolute most vulnerable and now he couldn't move his eyes away from her.
"conrad."
"charli."
"you should probably get out so i can put clothes on. we don't want anyone thinking somethings going on in here." she awkwardly tightened the towel around her body and he finally came back to reality.
"you're right. sorry." he turned his back to her, moving steps closer to the door.
"uh. conrad. i can meet you in your room after?" he turned to look at her and she realized what she said.
"okay heads out of the gutter. not. like. that. so we can talk. i'm still mad at you mister. you had no right to put your hands on me like that."
neither realized what she truly meant with those last two words.
"yeah of course char. i can turn on a movie if you'd like."
"maybe. i did promise jere i'd watch one with him and i really don't want to make him upset by ditching him to go with his brother he's currently upset with."
"yeah you're right. the options there if you'd like." he smiled softly and turned his back to her again. he opened the door and closed it behind him.
charli sighed, truly realizing the events that just took place.
conrad walked into his room and sat on his bed. so much just happened in those few minutes and he didn't know how to react.
he didn't know how to feel about anything. he's been in love with charli ever since they were kids. she's always been the outgoing one, she's always had the same type of vibe he did. belly was amazing and she was gorgeous but she wasn't the one he wanted anything to do with. that truly was his younger sister, he couldn't even see himself kissing her.
he thought.
he knew she couldn't feel the same. he knew he just needed to focus on what he did to charli right now. the physical things, and what he just did in the bathroom. his words and his actions even if nothing truly came out of it.
they got here today and so much has already went down. he just needed to focus on his mom. he couldn't worry about girls and partying as much. he didn't feel like it was fair.
she didn't want him to know and she didn't know he did. but what else was there for him to do now? his mom was sick and who knows how much longer he had with her.
this charli shit didn't matter, things with belly didn't matter. going out with the boys each night weren't as important. only his mother was.
he stood from his bed and grabbed a joint he previously rolled and shoved it behind his ear. charli would be fine to realize he wasn't in his room.
he walked down the stairs and looked at the moms all asleep cuddled up on the couch. he smiled to himself softly and went over to pull blankets over the three of them.
he heard doors upstairs open and close and he knew that was charli going to change and then heading to the room he now wasn't in.
he smiled down to his mom and walked out back, sitting down at the pool and putting his legs in as he grabbed the joint from his ear and lit it once it was between his lips.
