Hi my name is Tori and I am a normal 16 year old girl. I have a a little sister named Emma and she's 12 years old. I also have a younger brother named Kyle and he's 14 years old. I like to paint, cook and sew. Well now you kind of know me. On the morning of my birthday, I woke up to see my mom sitting on the other end of my bed looking at me with an excited expression on her face. "Good morning sweetheart, Happy Birthday." she said leaning over to kiss my forehead. She put a necklace with a key attached to it over my head and said, "It's about time I gave this to you. Promise me you will never take this off." I replied with a sleepy "I promise".

After I had my special birthday breakfast, my mom decided that we would go visit our cousins. They lived so far away, that I decided to take a book with me. My sister fell asleep in the first 5 minutes of the long drive. My brother just slouched in the backseat, his eyes glued to the screen of his iPod. I looked outside the window and realized that we were almost there! Then suddenly BOOM! Our car crashed and flipped over. I don't know how, but I immediately looked around to see where my parents were. My brother and I took off our seatbelts and scrambled to get out. There was glass everywhere! Me and my brother managed to get out, but my parents and my sister were still in the car. I tried to drag them out while my brother ran to my cousin's house to get my aunt. Good thing we were close to her house! My aunt came running with my brother not too far behind her. She called 911. Ten other people that had witnessed the accident, came rushing out of their cars to help. We managed to flip the car over before the ambulances arrived. My Mom, dad, and sister were all in the hospital! I stayed in the hospital with my oldest cousin playing card games, while my brother was taken back to my aunt's house. She said that we were going to stay at their house until my parents and my sister got better.

A week later my dad was out of the hospital since he wasn't too badly hurt, although it wasn't the same result for both my mom and sister. My friend came to see how I was doing. I was crying constantly because I knew there was no hope of them getting better. My friend tried to cheer me up and told me to not worry, they were going to get better. I wiped away my tears with my sleeve and my hand fell to the necklace my mom gave me on the morning of my birthday. I only cried harder knowing that soon enough, that would be the only thing I had left of her.
