You said you liked my eyes, so I looked into yours
You said you liked my laugh, so I chuckled more
You said you liked my voice, so I sang in the car
You said you liked my heart, so I opened it far
You said you liked my company, so I focused on you
You said you liked my drive, so I followed it through
You said I was too emotional, so I masked my feelings
You said I talked too much, so I started concealing
You said I didn't work a real job, so to one I applied
You said I was immature, so I learned how to drive
You said you hated my friends, so I cut them out
You said you didn't love me, leaving me with doubt
At the end of the day what you said doesn't matter
It's how I grew from the pain of my heart that was shattered
