。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆A thin layer of sweat covered your hands despite the cold weather outside and the lack of layers you were wearing. You buried your hands in the pockets of your coat, a puff of white smoke left your mouth as you breathed out. You walked, seemingly without direction, it was like your feet had a mind of their own, but you knew well where they were guiding you.
Unknowingly, a soft pink blush spread out across your cheeks as you made your way to the place where you and your best friend had agreed to meet, taking in a deep breath to steady your heartbeat.
"Goddamn it, Y/N." You cursed at yourself, embarrassed at the silly expressions that painted over your face whenever you thought of her. "Stupid feelings."
But, even if you tried hard to suppress it, they just wouldn't go away. No matter how hard you tried to ignore them, butterflies still swarmed in your stomach whenever you heard her name. Your knees would go weak whenever you heard her voice. And your heart would skip a beat whenever your eyes met hers. You knew your feelings were far from a friendship, but you just didn't want to accept it.
Joy had been your friend for well over five years now, and the time you had spent with her were the happiest years of your life. She was kind, bright, and understanding. But things started to get complicated when you realized the feelings you had towards her did not belong to a friendship, but you tried to push them away, fearing that it could potentially ruin the beautiful friendship you had built together. But you failed to realize how painful it was to not be able to acknowledge them.
Seeing her talk so happily with someone else tugged at the strings of your heart. Or when she unknowingly made comments such as "you're my best friend". And those things weren't even her fault, she was unaware.
Another sigh escaped past your lips. "It's just a foolish little crush." You hummed. It hurt having to tell yourself that all the time.
You felt so happy around her, but when the thought of her not being yours came to your mind, it was like all those joyful feelings washed away in an instant. You tried so hard to see her as a friend, like she did, but your heart couldn't just be ignored.
Sooyoung had called you to the park, your usual meet up place. Looking around, you spotted her figure waving at you not so far away, sitting by the benches. You let out a soft smile as you walked over to her.
Her long wavy hair perfectly flew out of her face with a sudden gust of wind, giving you a clear view of her features. She was wearing a pink long sleeve cardigan and a pair of jeans with a cream-colored padded jacket on top, yet she looked so mesmerizingly beautiful.
"Hey." you greeted softly as you made your way towards the bench, taking a seat next to her.
"Hi, how have you been?" She asked, her characteristic smile breaking through her features.
"I've been better..." You confessed, an ironic chuckle escaping your lips.
"How so? Did something happen?" She asked, placing her hand on top of yours for reassurance. However, it sent an electric shock down your body, feeling as if your heart was about to burst.
"Not really, but it doesn't matter." You laughed again, awkwardly at feeling the warmth of her hand against yours. "We're here to talk about you, why did you call me?" You asked, trying to divert the conversation in hopes of calming down your racing heart.
"I need your help with something." She said as you nodded, signaling her to continue. "But, there's something that I have to tell you first." She hummed.
"What is it?" You asked.
"I've been liking someone for a while." She confessed, and you felt as your heart dropped to the pit of your stomach. Your lips quivered as you tried to suppress your tears.
Good job, Y/N, you let yourself down again. Were you really expecting her to love you back?
"Who is it? Do I know them?" You asked, stumbling on your own words.
"I can't tell you just yet." She said. "I want your advice on how to make the first move."
You opened your mouth to speak, but no words came out. It was like your tears were stuck in your throat.
"Why my help? You know I am far less experienced in love than you." You choked out. "I've never been with anyone in my life."
"I know that, but you're one of the people I have more trust in, so I felt like you would be the right person to confess this to." She explained. "It doesn't have to be accurate, but hypothetically, if you were to be asked out by someone, what would you like?" She asked yet again, tugging at the poor strings of your heart.
"I don't know?" You said, looking anywhere but her eyes. "I would just want them to be honest with me, I guess." You said.
"Then let me be honest with you." She started off, cupping your face with her delicate hands, forcing you to look at her. "I like you, Kim Y/N." She stated, causing your heart to jump out of your chest.
"What?" You asked, hoping it wasn't just you hearing things.
"I'm in love with you. I don't know when this came to be but before I realized it, you were the only thing on my mind." She confessed again.
"You're not kidding me, are you?" You questioned. Your eyes looked at hers in hopes for an answer, but they just showed the purest sincerity.
Your lips quivered nervously as you felt your heart thump inside your chest.
"So, what do you say?" She hummed, expecting your answer.
You didn't know what to say or how to react. It was something you didn't expect was going to happen. Your hand reached for hers which was resting on your cheek, blood rushing up to your face.
"I- I like you too." You stuttered, your heart racing at having your faces at such close proximity.
A smile tugged at the corner of her lips as she reduced the gap between your faces, butterflies swarming your body from head to toe.
"Then, can I?" She asked, her gaze shifting from your eyes to your lips and then back to your eyes again. You weakly nodded, staring at her lips in awe.
She then closed the little space that was left between your faces, your lips crashing into each other as your arms traveled and wrapped themselves around her neck.
Her lips fit into yours so perfectly, and moved against yours so smoothly, sending you into complete bliss. Your lips followed her movements as her hands never left your cheeks, caressing them every now and then.
Your mouth opened slightly, and she took this opportunity to deepen the kiss, her hands traveling to your waist, pulling your smaller body closer to her until you were basically sitting on her lap.
You pulled away slightly to catch your breaths, a light crimson tint spreading across your cheeks almost instantly. She smiled, leaving a quick peck on your slightly swollen lips.
You stayed in that position for a while, listening to each other's heartbeats as your head rested on her shoulder. So maybe this was love...
