Time had passed and it was now around midnight. Mikasa was still awake in the top bunk of the bunkbed while Annie pretended to sleep. The next couple of days were going to be hard for the both of them. Mikasa wanted to talk to Annie but what would she say? Annie was the same.
Mikasa picked up her phone from the bed and went straight to text Armin. He usually knew how to handle this kinda stuff. She texted him for about an hour and he had helped her a lot with what to say, and all she had done in return is fallen asleep on him.
----
The next day Annie woke up to the smell of bacon. Mikasa must have been cooking breakfast since Eren was the suckist cook ever. Annie got up and stretched before slowly making her way to the door. Before he opened the door she realized there was a note taped to it.
Annie took note off of the door and unfolded it. The note was obviously from Eren. She could tell by the horrible hand writing.
"Mikasa has something important to tell you." Was what it said. It had one of those weird Japanese emoticon things at the end of it but Annie didn't bother trying to decipher the facial expression it was. She crumpled up the green paper and tossed it in the trash can by her desk. The blonde opened the door and walked out not bothering to close it. She walked over to edge of the stairs, she yawned and stretched not caring that she was just in an oversized t-shirt and her underwear.
"Bye Mika!" Eren had his hand on the door knob down stairs. He noticed Annie standing at the top of the stairs and smiled, "Your girlfriend is awake, by the way." And with that, he was gone. The comment made Annie blush but she just shook her head and walked down the stairs, almost tripping once or twice still not completely awake.
Meanwhile in the kitchen, Mikasa was in the middle of making breakfast for the two of them. When Annie walked in she realized Mikasa had taken the same fashion as her. She walked over to the black haired girl and put her hand on her back, "Smells good." She said still tired.
Mikasa jumped when Annie touched her, "Why are your hands so cold?!" Annie pulled her hand away and put her arms on the counter, "Sorry." She apologized. Mikasa glanced at her. She couldn't tell if she looked sad or tired. She turned the stove off and grabbed two plates in a cabinet on her left. She put the food she had made on both of them and handed a plate to Annie.
They both walked into the living room and sat down on the couch. "We have a long day planned after breakfast." Mikasa started. Annie looked over at her, her hair falling in her face, "I...thought you were mad at me?" She asked quietly.
"Not mad enough to abandon you." She said taking a bite of bacon. "I'm not going to tell you what we're going to do today, you're just going to have to find out." She smiled. Mika didn't look at Annie, she just watched the tv. Annie, however, couldn't take her eyes off of Mikasa. She was confusing sometimes.
After a minute or two of staring at her, Annie looked back at her plate and picked it up off the coffee table, "I'm sorry about..." She took a deep breath, "Everything, I guess." She let out a long sigh. "I put you and your friends, my friends over so much stress with the thing about my dad and-" the blond put her plate back down too upset to eat. "I should have just kept my mouth shut-" she was cut off by Mika.
"Annie!" She yelled, "How could you say something like that? You might have caused us stress about the whole thing, but you're okay now." It was the first time she had actually looked at Annie since they'd sat down. "I get that you're only bringing this up because if you had kept your mouth shut you wouldn't be smoking, right? And I wouldn't be mad at you?" Annie nodded in response to her question. "You need to stop thinking like that, it's dangerous." She gave Annie a sad look but the blonde wasn't looking back at her, she just stared at her food.
Mikasa would give them other hour, maybe their moods would change and they wouldn't be in a bad mood when they left to go on their date.
