"Wake up Reece." A foot lands in my stomach. I open my eyes and punch the guy squatting down next to me. "For a suicidal teen you sure are aggressive. Cummon we're going to the Dome so you can meat some people that are just like you." He gives me a fake smile and tries to pull me up but gives up when I keep kicking him.
"I can stand up on my own." I stand up and glare at the man. We are standing in a cage with concrete walls and a cage door. "Isn't this supposed to be a safe place?" I ask looking around the cold room.
He laughs. "Who told you that? Q? We were supposed to explain everything to you yesterday but Q gave you the wrong amount of dosage and you overslept. So I guess I explain it now. We go and find suicidal teenagers with crappy pasts, bring them to our headquarters, and experiment on them for the government." He firmly grabs my arm and leads my out of the cage.
There's a hallway of these cages full of teenagers that look around my age. "What kind of experiments?" I ask adverting my eyes from a guy with neon hair and red eyes to a girl screaming, "MAKE THEM GO AWAY!" over and over.
"Experiments to see what we can do. Corey here," he points to the girl screaming, "can see ghost. The guy with neon hair, we experimented on him to see if we could change hair and eye color internally instead of externally." He smiles, proud of his job.
"This is messed up." I say trying to jerk my wrist from out of his control. His hand doesn't leave my wrist but his grip tightens.
"You were planning to kill yourself. So were all these teenagers. Taking all these teens and experimenting on them is way better than them killing themselves." We walk out of the hallway and into a huge dome-like figure where people with various colors of hair, abnormal actions I'm guessing are results of the experiments. "Welcome to the Dome. Every time we find a new subject we hold an assembly where everyone comes, well everyone who's stable." He keeps his grip on my wrist and guides me to the center of the Dome, where a big circular platform lays. I advert my eyes from each person. They all stare at me like I'm going to kill them.
The man pulls me on the platform. "Attention all!" He yells even though everyone is already staring. "Welcome Reece, our new subject. Her first experiment will be tomorrow and we will be testing to see if we can make her read minds." Whispers scatter among the teens.
I blush when someone yells, "You can't give a pretty girl the power to mind read! She'll be able to tell what we are lusting about her." Laughter scatters through the Dome.
"Settle down, settle down." The man yells silencing about 400 'subjects'.
"What's her back up experiment Z?" A girl who's seven feet tall calls.
"We haven't thought about her back up experiment yet." The man with the tight grip around my wrist, whose name appears to be Z, replies. "Thank you all for gathering. Social time is over please make it back to your rooms."
The subjects line up at different exit doors. A women's voice comes on from the intercom. "Doors open. Please walk to rooms." Her voice is blan and monotone but everyone follows her instructions.
Z lets go of my wrist, little red marks in the shape of a hand are left on my arm. "For every experiment you do you get something. The first experiment you'll get a bed. You'll find out the rest later. There are certain rules here. Here is a rule book." He hands me a little booklet and smiles. "Here is a list of experiments that you are welcome to volunteer for, and the schedule. There are also consequences for rule breaking. Hopefully you won't have to find out what those are." He smiles at me. "Let's walk back to your room."
This time he doesn't grab my wrist. Maybe my scars and scabs scared him. He leads me back to my 'room'. I remain silent while he talks about how he got here. My eyes wonder around in each of the rooms. Some have desks and beds and posters, others have a blanket like mine. The occupant of the rooms each watch me walk to my room, some mutter words, others yell about how I'll hate it here.
When I get to my room Z closes the cage and locks it. I sit down on the poorly woven blanket and read the lists.

The list goes on but I find nothing interesting. I put the list down and look at the schedule.

The schedule seems pretty easy to follow and so do the rules, but it seems like a prison here. I guess reading people's minds would be cool and so would my scars going away and my addictions to cutting and pot no longer addictions would be cool too. Maybe this place isn't no bad. No ones going to beat me here, right? No one will bully me here?
I rest my head back on the cement and sleep conquers me.
