It's the first day of fifth grade for Bambam. He was feeling really apprehensive as of late because he had recently moved from Thailand to Hong Kong.
Why do you ask?
Oh nothing major just because his father 'wanted to' and didn't even considered the family's feelings!
Who even just decides to move out of the country for no reason?
Ok, maybe there might have been a more legit reason than because he 'wanted to' for the move, but it was still completely unfair for Bambam!
Bambam completely resented the idea of moving from the start. Not only did he have to learn a completely new language, he also had to make new friends.
Don't get the wrong idea though, Bambam's totally a social butterfly. Lord, what it would take him to keep his mouth shut! But to socialize in an unfamiliar language?
Impossible.
He hated everything about this place. Even though he didn't really have any excuses as for why he hated Hong Kong, he just didn't because it wasn't his precious home Thailand.
He hated it because he was forced to leave all his friends behind and now he has to learn an entirely new language and to top it off he has to share a room with his older brother because they couldn't afford a bigger house with more rooms.
Tiring, to say the least.
But now that Bambam is currently waiting for the school bus he is getting continuingly more and more anxious. Who is he going to sit next to? Will anyone even let him sit next to them? He didn't have time to answer as the school bus stopped in front of him and the door open.
"Thank you." Bambam carefully said in chinese to the bus driver.
The driver just grunts and motioned towards the back as he closes the door and continues to drive again.
Bambam looked around the bus.
It was a total mess. Everyone was yelling, gum could be spotted at every corner, and an occasional ball of paper could be spotted flying across the bus.
"Great," Bambam said in a sarcastic tone. "It's not like I wanted a headache or anything."
Thankfully as he walked down the bus he noticed an empty seat next to a friendly looking kid.
"Mind if I sit here?" Bambam asked.
"No, not at all," the boy smiled back. "Hi! My name is Yugyeom, What's your name?"
"My name is Bambam! I just moved from Thailand."
Yugyeom gasped a little.
"Wow! That's so cool! Can you speak chinese well?"
A few months before the move, Bambam had taken a couple of chinese lessons from a really strict instructor who often beat him whenever he didn't follow instructions. You could say it didn't take long to learn at all.
"Yes, I understand it pretty well."
"Well that's neat! It would be really cool to speak two languages. Hey, you should teach me Thai sometime!"
After talking for a few minutes, they arrived at school. Bambam managed to learn a lot about Yugyeom and he found out that they were in the same grade. It was a bit relieving to Bambam to know that he had made a friend before the school day even started.
Fortunately one less thing to worry about, right?
When they arrived at school they walked to class together because they miraculously ended up in the same class, which Bambam was very thankful for.
