One Night (OneShot)

"You know Gura.." Amelia started, her eyes never leaving the star littered night sky. Gura could only do the same as she waited patiently for the blonde to finish.

"Theres so many things I wanted to do with you.. I'm just.." Amelia cut off, her other arm lifting up towards her face and covering her eyes. Gura could see it all from the corner of her eye, the stars were so bright that Gura swore that she saw Amelia's cheeks have a trail of shine.

She was crying wasn't she?

Amelia sobbed and sobbed.

And Gura could only lay there waiting.

"I wish I could've done something different. Everyday, everynight, every goddamn morning, all I could do was hope for the best while Bloop and Bubba stare at me with so much longing in their eyes. They were wondering Gura! They were.." She hiccuped and sobbed.

"They were wondering when you'd come back.."

It was so late in the night, the clouds disappeared and only left with the stars shining brightly, the moon in full view, the waves of the calming sea rushing over the sandy shore, it was such a beautiful night.

'It would've been more beautiful if I was able to see you smile rather than cry Ame..'

Gura wanted so badly to speak, to reply, to tell Amelia that they don't need to wonder and long anymore for her return. She was always there, right infront of Bubba and Bloop. Gura was always right beside her beloved wife.

Seconds, minutes, an hour passed, the sobbing and tears slowly stopped and was only left with dried tears and quiet breathing.

'..She fell asleep'

Gura sat up and towered over her beloved. She couldn't see it, she couldn't see her own shadow.

Gura tried put her hand onto Amelia's cheek but then as she was about to touch her, her body froze.

"Gura.. You know you can't do that.."

Gura felt the weight go away from her body, letting her know that she could move freely again. But it took her several seconds to turn to the being behind her to reply.

"I know Calli but- I can't take it.. I can't take it seriously if I see my sunshine gloom up behind rain clouds.."

"..." The pink haired reaper stared doen at her friend with care and pity. "I care a lot about the two of you guys but I still can't let you do this in the name of the law of the dead"

Gura sighs, looking back at her beloved sunshine before smiling bitterly.

"If you want to see her when the time comes, just listen and go with the law Gura, you can't ever see her again if you don't follow.." Calli bit her lip in frustration, trying her best to explain it to the shorter girl sitting down.

"And.. You really should never turn into like one of them."

Gura just nods, silent but she accepts it.

"I've waited for this bozo for a century or a hundred, I'll wait for her again, no matter how long it takes."

"Thats the spirit bud.. Now come on, I got some pizza and games to help ya get your mind off of this for a bit."

Gura smiled appreciatively and followed the reaper who walked into a portal she opened.

But before she went inside, she looked back at the laying blonde and whispered three words she knew Amelia would be able to hear.

And then she finally followed behind the repear with the portal closing as she did.
