As I walked down the corridor of the main building, I notice a slight change in the atmosphere. I look at my wrist com device, and sigh; it was the day the new inmates would come in.
"Ah well fuck... time to go to storage." I say with disdain, I hated newcomers ever since I got into the swing of things. The greenies couldn't do shit on time or right."Welcome to the only prison you can never escape. We keep a 24/7 armed anklet on you, armed with what you are probably asking. It's explosives...."
I quickly try to rush behind the warden so I'm not seen, but I accidentally bump into his daughter that loves watching the greenies appear.
"Sorry Scarlett. I'll watch where I'm going next time." I mumble, but I stop when I see she's engrossed in a certain inmate. I smile when I recognize him.
"Sir," I ask Scarlett's father, "can I take one of the greenies under my wing?" He nods and I head to the end. I asked the kid to come with me and he followed.
"Hey wait up, I'm coming with you guys!" Scarlett yells as we walk down the hall.
"Okay, but you need to stay quite. I'm explaining the layout of this place to him." I turn back to the kid that I had grabbed. "Okay. Essentially, the jail is a hexagon with different parts for different activities. Left side is more physical stuff like a gym and work, while the right side is brain aligned. We have fights for profit here. If you win a fight you get prison points. Enough prison points can shorten your sentence." the kid just sits there. "Hey. You understand all of this Jayson?""Okay, here's your cell. I'll see you later for dish duty." I tell him before I'm grabbed and pulled by Scarlett.
"What the hell kaden! Why'd you drop him off so soon?" Scarlett yells at me. But I just shrug past her
"Shove off girlie. I got stuff to do." I said as I put my hands in my pockets and shoved past her, bumping my shoulder into hers. I didn't say another word until she left.
