A little later I made it to the airport and saw the plane waiting for me. I said hello to the pilot and put away my suitcase. The seats of the plane were comfortable as I made myself comfortable. Throughout the whole flight I was half panicking. I really worried about what the Cullens and wolf pack will think of this.
And just like magic, the plane had landed. I quickly thanked the pilot, took my suitcase and ran to a car rental. On my way there I realized that it would have been easier to just steal a car. But since I was already at the rental I decided not to commit a crime. The car rental guy was slow and if he had taken any longer, I probably would have ripped his head off.
I had been in such a hurry, I didn't even look at what car I rented. It turned out to be a black sports car. I put the suitcase in the passenger seat and then sat down in the driver's seat. Oh boy, this car was fast. I accidentally pressed the gas too hard once I got on the highway and almost drove of the road. Luckily I got used to the speed and drove to the place where Volturi was located.
I drove until I saw a familiar old-looking town nearby. The massive palace in the center was just as I remembered. I parked my car behind the massive gates and took my suitcase. Just for security I slipped on my jacket and a hat, so the tourists wouldn't notice my skin.
The little walk up to the palace was definitely nerve wracking. As soon as I made it to the front door, it opened. "Hello, you must be Y/n Black, let me escort you," said a woman smiling. I followed her into the palace.
We walked a bit and made it to another pair of large doors. She opened them up and I stepped inside. "Ah, darling, you have arrived," Aro said smiling as I looked around the humongous throne room. "I hope your journey here was delightful," Aro added while nearing me. "Oh, yes it was uh, sudden but very beautiful," I replied uneasily.
"Very well, Jane will show you your temporary room," He said and retreated to his throne with 2 other vampires. "The usual guest room is a little..." Aro said, smiling like a creep. "Occupied," He added suddenly, making one of the other vampires laugh.
Jane showed me the way to my so-called "temporary" room. "Your things have already been delivered and put in the right places," She said coldly, making me uncomfortable. "Okay," I said and watched her leave my room.
I looked outside from the window. For some reason, my room was in a high tower. I opened my suitcase and started putting my things in the closet and the cabinet. I laid on my bed and sighed.
'God, my phone!' I thought. I quickly took my phone and it was full of calls and messages. Jacob has called me at least 15 times and texted me 20 times. And the Cullens had called and sent texts too. 'Oh, what have I gotten myself into' I thought.
I quickly texted Jacob back, that I was okay and everything was fine. After answering all of the texts, someone knocked on the door. I quickly hid my phone under the pillow. "Come in," I said. A man opened the door, he was part of the Volturi clan.
"Miss, we are inviting you to feast with us," he said with a suspicious smile. "Um, I have to decline, but uh thank you..." I said. "Are you sure?" he asked again. "Yes," I said. "I shall go then, goodbye," he said. "Goodbye," I said back and he closed the door.
'I know they feast on humans, so there's no way I'm gonna go there' I thought to myself. I decided to go to sleep and forget that I ever got invited to a dinner like that. The next morning I was up before 6. I woke up to hearing a woman yell loud and I chose to investigate.
I heard another yell when I was close to the throne room. I peeked through the door to see a dead woman on the floor meanwhile a man was getting his life sucked out. I was so shocked I let out a gasp and in a second everything went quiet. Everyone in the throne room looked at me.
"Ah, y/n how nice of you to finally join us," Aro said, dabbing his mouth with a cloth. I felt someone grab me from behind and bring me inside. I looked behind and saw Jane looking at me apologetically and then threw me in front of the man who was still breathing. Jane went to stand next to the 3 chairs and then shut her eyes.
"Eat it," I heard Aro say. 'I couldn't, I never will' I thought to myself tears forming. "No," I said back furious. "Marcus, help y/n eat normal food," Aro said smiling as he sat down in his chair. They had given me animal blood, even though the human blood was better, there will be no way I would drink it.
After being full I thanked them and quickly went back to my room and locked the door. I jumped into the bed and took my phone. Of course, they were still calling and messaging. 'Oh right, I need to ask them why they invited me here' I thought to myself.
I hid my phone once again and looked out of the window. Humans were going around and talking, lots of them entering the palace, even though it was full of vampires. I sighed and hopped off the bed. It wasn't a long journey and soon I stood behind the large doors again.
Thankfully, no one was screaming and Aro was having a quiet conversation with Jane and two other vampires. I opened the door and stepped in. "Ahh, y/n, you arrived at the most exquisite time," Aro said. "I think, I also need to introduce you to someone," He added looking directly into my eyes.
Aro motioned for me to come closer as the two vampires stood up. "This is Marcus," Aro said and pointed at a tall vampire with brown hair. "And this is Caius," Aro said and pointed at a vampire with shorter hair. "Nice to meet you," I said forcing a smile. They both smiled at the same time and then sat down again.
Jane had left the room and now it was only the 4 of us. "You look like you want to ask something, darling," Aro said looking once again at me. "Uh, y-yes," I said stuttering a little. The air in the throne room had turned tense and I was getting anxious.
