"Maman!"

The little girl called out to her mother. The older woman looked in her direction and smiled warmly.

"Oui ma fille, what is it?" She asked her daughter.

"Today I saw the most beautiful lady in the whole world! I think she was a princess!" The child explained to her mother.

"Is that so?"

"Oui! She was so pretty and she danced that it looked like flying!" The little showed what she said by twirling around the room.

"Hmm...was she perhaps wearing a light blue dress and white shoes with ribbons?" The older woman put her finger on her chin in a thinking manner.

"Oh yes she was!"

"Ah! You must've seen the newly announced Prima Ballerina," she told her child.

"The what?" the little girl asked confused.

"Prima Ballerina is the title given to the most talented ballet dancer of the generation. And it just so happened that a few days ago a new dancer has been given that title. I heard that she's so young as well, only 16. If I remember correctly her name is Eleonore Dior," the mother explained.

"Maman! If I practice very hard, will I also be a Prima Ballerina?" She asked her mother with a big smile and shinning eyes.

The brown haired beauty just smiled at her daughter and cupped her cheek. "Of course you can ma fille."

"Yay!" She exclaimed and span around in the middle of the room. "I'm going to be the most amazing, popular, the best Prima Ballerina in the whole world!!"

Seeing this, the mother just chuckled slightly with a loving look.

"I know you will, ma petite Véronique.."

"Ma fille! Please come here!" The mother called out to her daughter from another room.

Not long after that, small footsteps were heard rushing into the room. Walking in, the little girl looked at her mother with her curious hazel eyes.

"What is it maman?" She asked tilting her head a bit.

"Close your eyes, it's a surprise!" She walked up to the child whilst holding something behind her.

Hearing this, Véronique smiled widely from excitement and immediately closed her eyes. Once she did, her mother took out what was behind her back and held it up in front of her daughter.

"You can open your eyes now," she told her.

The brown haired girl opened her eyes and gasped in amazement.

Before her was a beautiful light purple dress with short puffed sleeves. At the end of the dress and the sleeves was a beautifully embroidered white lace which just added to its elegance. It was simple, but for Véronique it was the greatest creation on earth. And it was all sewn together by her mother.

"Maman! It's beautiful!" She exclaimed whilst tearing up a little.

"I'm so happy you like it, ma fille," the older woman just chuckled seeing her child's amazement. "Also," she added while taking a small box from the counter and opened it, "I got you these."

The little girl looked inside the box and her eyes started shining more than before. She took out the pretty white ballet shoes and couldn't stop looking at them.

"You know Mademoiselle Dubois from the toy shop right? Well, it turns out that she has a cousin who is a ballet teacher not too far from here so I was able to arrange for you to attend lessons starting from Wednesday," her mother explained everything with a smile on her face.
