A soft glow illuminated from the phone in the dim room. Many papers scattered across the desk; unfinished homework and notes, neglected as the woman's eyes fixated on the screen. Luxurious dresses of different hues, silk-like hair, gleaming jewelry, intricate details; every aspect of the manhwa appealed to her, appearing completely perfect.

Except...

A loud groan left her lips at the sight of the strange blond prince. She glared at the screen with what one could only describe as mild to heavy disgust. Goodness, the relationship between the two main siblings of the Villainess is a Marionette made her stomach churn. She wasn't sure whether that was intentional on the author's part or if it's just somehow part of their culture to show sibling affection like that. The wiki explained that it was an unhealthy affection towards his sister. So it kept the true nature of his feelings a mystery.

She could understand and sympathise with his reasoning. A child depraved of love his whole life with no one to give it to him. The only person who ever showed him care and compassion ended up being his sister. Not only that, he was brought up with the belief that everything he has could be taken away from him if he didn't have enough power. So that would obviously result in a more obsessive personality, clinging tightly onto whatever he's given like a snake squeezing its prey in its grip. Overwhelming hunger that yearns for more and more.

Perhaps she could understand that feeling more than anyone even.

But she couldn't bring herself to ignore the weirdly incestuous vibes of how Regef treats Kayena. Most people she's talked to about it seem to agree that he seemed like a "siscon". Really, it sucked how the only other character she related to besides Raphael was so... weird. She also adored her brother in a more affectionate way than most other sibling relationships but it's completely different from how their relationship is portrayed.

She wished he wasn't like this. So then she'd feel more comfortable relating to him in an emotional way instead of the conflicting feelings in her gut.

A sigh left her lips as she laid down on her back, feeling the soft pillows under her. The hum of the air conditioner was the only other noise in the room. Tomorrow was another day. She's been getting more busy since her finals are up. It was already difficult maintaining friendships before she started working towards becoming a psychologist, but now it felt impossible.

Most her nights were spent alone with the only thing that could drown out the feelings of loneliness and isolation. It wasn't so bad. She figured this is the least of what she deserved after what her past behavior. No one could be hurt if she never had friends anymore, and no one could leave her.

Although, she did wish there was more excitement in her life at the very least. Everything had grown dull to her.

Oh well. Life goes on and the best thing she could do is make the best out of it.

She put on some music. Right, time to get to work.

The night wind blew past the open window, the curtains dancing with it. The window showed a sleeping woman, holding onto her soft plush toys. A dark figure sat on the mahogany windowsill, watching her with fixed eyes.
