This happened during season 2:
The sun had started rising from the horizon and bathed the jungles of Mexico below. The endless jungle of trees seemed to shine like a million bundles of emeralds. The birds started singing their morning songs as the sun had started to come to view. As the sun had started to rise from the golden and blue-streaked sky, the people of the nearby Mexican town had started to awakening and getting ready to start their day. The adults had started heading towards the nearby café before they get to work with their morning business. The teenagers had started working their morning jobs before meeting up with each other in their favorite hangout spots and challenge each other to beyblading battles. While the kids had started working alongside their parents or stayed to watch the beyblading battles eagerly.
But in the depths of the jungle was a single cottage. Its wood is in a shade of brown, while both the front door and windows are dark brown. There's also a front porch, while the roof is darker brown and seemed to be made from strong stray and wood underneath. There's also a five pens filled with four cows, seven pigs, a flock of chickens and a rooster named Boomer, two donkeys, and five sheep in the pens. There's a gray barn where the town's beys are built in, and a fence circled the cottage and the property.
Despite the wildlife that surrounds the cottage and property, there seemed to be hardly any human life. Though, folks can have a second guess when they see a single man and his daughter living in the cottage. While her dad works as the bey blacksmith of the town, the girl works alongside her dad sometimes. At the end of the day, they loved each other dearly and her dad would try her best to tell his daughter stories about her late mother.
The girl's name is Cami Rodriguez, while her dad's name is Gabriel Rodriguez.
It wasn't long till the girl had finally revealed herself as she quietly stepped out of the shadowy trees as she watched a nearby bey battle curiously. Her eyes are in the same shade of blue as the sea that sparkled in a curious and clever way. Her wavy blonde hair is streaked in azure highlights and tied into a ponytail. Her skin has a fair tan from her time in the sun, but she has some markings: a short blue trident on her forehead, three blue stars underneath her right eye, and a blue crest of light on her left forearm. She was wearing a white tank top underneath a short-sleeved tie-dyed shirt with blue, green, yellow, and white highlights like a colorful ocean wave; light blue jeans, blue sleeveless gloves highlighted in white, and white shoes. Hanging from Cami's right ear is a pair of earrings: the smaller earring is green, while the other one is blue.
Cami jumped from tree to tree by swinging from vine to vine and she finally came to a stop to slide down gracefully from a tree trunk as she approached the small Mexican town. Cami's blue eyes lingered over the town with a small smile. Complete white buildings lined both sides of the trail she was taking. The architecture is a hodgepodge of design, from Spanish stucco to Spanish facades to traditional brick. A good deal of people walked between the stores and talked to each other about daily things. Behind them loomed a large building at the end of the street, decorated with Greek columns and a bell tower. The red and white schoolhouse stood nearby as the teacher swept the dust with her broom.
Cami finally found the crowd surrounding a stadium with two Bladers beyblading a competition at the stadium. She sighed at the sight as she watched as the brown-haired boy named Diego and a black-haired boy named Jorge fought against each other with their beys. She leaned against a nearby tree for some shade and sighed wearily as she watched the same antics from yesterday.
And to think it'll be different this time around, thought Cami as she rolled her eyes at the sight.
But Cami continued watching the show with a sharp, curious expression. "Three!" Cami narrowed her eyes at the duo and joined the count down with the others, but more quietly. "Two!" Jorge seems calm, but Diego seemed to be nervous. "One! Let it RIP!"
Jorge and Diego both launched their beys into the stadium. Both beys spun around around in the stadium in two blurs of dark purple and green. Cami watched as the two beys both hit each other and zoomed around the stadium. Cami could see a lot of trials and errors between the attacks of the beys: Diego's launch was unsteady and was causing his bey to wobble before it could be hit, his attacks on Jorge's bey were unsteady and has left several weak spots to be hit. But Diego, on the other hand, has done a steady launch and his bey was zooming around in a blur of bright purple, his attacks on Jorge's bey were much stronger than Diego's attacks and kept going stronger by the minute.
If this keeps up, Jorge will most certainly loose and Diego will win this second match for sure. Cami felt a little impressed of Diego, but a little worried that she had might of jinxed it by accident.
"Cetus! Grand Fleet!" A purple aura started to surround Jorge and a image of a powerful purple whale in a huge flood has appeared. It has made the bey glowed in a brilliant shade of purple and it made Jorge's bey burst. It soon cleared out and Cami looked at an overconfident Diego with a guarded look.
Looks like I need to finish up my bey, thought Cami with a wry smile. I wonder if Dad can spare the time to help me on my bey.
Cami spun around as quickly as she had came, barely noticing that a good deal of boys had saw her and started staring after her as she bought a book from the bookseller with her money and went back to her home. She hated feeling like a trophy. But Cami has decided not to give the boys anytime of day.
It wasn't long till Cami had arrived to her home and called out, "Hey Dad! I'm home!"
"In the blacksmith house Cami!" She followed the sound of her dad's voice and entered the blacksmith house, where her sandy-haired and blue-eyed dad was holding a dark green towel as he wiped off some of the sweat and dirt on his hands.
"Hey Dad," greeted Cami as she sat down by one of the work stations. "Is it okay we start working on my bey?"
"Sure thing sweetheart." Her dad rubbed his towel against his forehead. "Lets get to work."
That's when they had started working in the blacksmith house together. Cami knew she wants a great spirit by her side and had draw down a lean, but strong light sea-green dragon with sky-blue eyes to show her fearless side and she made sure her bey is an attack type. Her dad smiled and nodded at the sight of the dragon as they started working on the computer. They had used a good deal of fire and water to shape a piece of Cami's bey. She had used the fire-pen (sorry, don't know what it's really called, it was used when Valt was evolving his bey in season 3) to carve out the dragon on her bey. They continued working on the bey till it was in the shaping machine that brought Cami's bey together.
But something strange happened to Cami as she watched as her bey had came to be. It was like entering an awakening dream of a sort. Surrounding her were soft colors of green, blue, yellow, and white. It felt so unreal and amazing at the same time, Cami finally realized that she was sitting as some misty clouds came and go from around her.
"Wh-What's happening?" Cami's voice echoed in the strange space area. "Where am I?"
"Hello Cami." A deep, rumbly voice was soon heard echoing through the strange space, in which reminded Cami of the sea. The voice is clearly a female and sound human, but inhuman at the same time. "I am glad to finally meet you."
"I would usually say you too." Cami looked around curiously. "But I don't see you anywhere."
"I'm over here my partner." Cami turned to look at a cloud and out stepped the most magnificent creature she had ever seen in her whole entire life.
It is a dragon.
The dragon stood above Cami and both of their eyes met, she's awestruck at the stunning creature standing before her. The dragon resembles the ones that Cami has remembered seeing from traditional Western artwork. The dragon's scales are in a gorgeous shade of turquoise like sea-green foam. The dragon so looked lean with her long legs and her lean face, but her muscles danced underneath her scales which showed hidden strength. The dragon's eyes are startling and wise bright blue eyes, like two small blue flames blazing through the mist. The dragon's claws are sharp and curved like white knives, the dragon's teeth are gleaming white and almost sharp as the dragon's claws.
"W-Who?... Are you my partner?" asked Cami, both timid and curious.
"Indeed, I am." The dragon looked at Cami with what seems to be a smile, while Cami continued looking up at the dragon in awe. "But I need a name my dear."
Cami knew she had to name her new bey friend. A great name that matches the greatness, the beautifulness, and fierceness that her dragon carries within her. Cami closed her eyes thoughtfully, thinking up a good name for her dragon friend that will suit her perfectly.
"Lets call you Warrior Swiftstorm Thunderbolt," said Cami as she open her eyes and looked up at the dragon. "Swiftstorm for short."
The dragon had let out a deep, rumbling purr and lowered her snout to let Cami touch her. Cami smiled hesitantly and was surprised to feel the touch of warm scales underneath the palm of her hand.
I'm touching a dragon. I'm touching a dragon. I'm touching a DRAGON!!! Cami couldn't think her day could get any better and yet it did, she's not sure if she could contain this much joy within her.
"I love my new name," said the dragon aka Swiftstorm with a smile.
"I'm glad." Cami hugged Storm's snout before she pulled back and had came back into reality.
Cami gasped and looked around to see she's back in the blacksmith house. She heard repeating beeps, making she remembered that her bey is done drying and have been placed together. Cami opened the door to the container and let out an eager squeak at the sight of her striking bey. It's cyan with a turquoise dragon with sky-blue eyes in the center. It's a right-spin Attack Type Cho-Z Layer that has a metal dragon with its four blades and a dragon-shaped disc built into the layer. It features five dragon heads; a dragon, with one in the center of the Layer and four that line each of the wings that make up the points of contact, creating a diamond. The snouts of the dragons and the tip of each wing are molded into the shape of spear heads, each of the the outer dragon heads are made of metal. The primary points of contact are two large wings that protrude from either side of the relatively round perimeter, creating high recoil akin to an elliptical design. It's pretty similar to Lui's Nightmare Longinus Destroy, only without the destruction of bey parts.
"Wow," breathed Cami in wonder as she placed the slightly warm bey into her hand. She had helped her dad make many beys before, but this felt different to her. Storm feels like a piece of Cami's shared soul, both brave enough for a battle and determined to prove themselves.
A few days later:
"Lets practice with you before we hit the battles," Cami said to Swiftstorm with a smile after Cami carried Storm out of the house and headed towards the practice house. Cami has been practicing with Swiftstorm for the last few days and has managed to knock down the practices without too much trouble.
Swiftstorm gleamed back at Cami and said telepathically, "Lets see what we can do then."
Cami walked towards the practice house where the practice stadium is at. It shows that has been used a good deal of times during the practice runs with the other beys. Cami smiled as she remembered all those practice battles with her dad, but she never felt a true connection with any of those beys. But with Swiftstorm, Cami is able to feel a true connection with her bey. Cami cleaned out the hay for the stadium, but she felt herself trembling in excitement as she did so and she felt her bey glowing with excitement too.
She took a deep breath, struggling to calm herself down due to Swiftstorm's excitement and said telepathically, "Swiftstorm, calm down. I'm almost ready."
Once Cami had gotten the stadium, she loaded Storm into her lightning launcher and gotten ready to launch her bey into the stadium.
"Three!" Cami lowered on her legs. "Two!" She became tensed and her eyes gleamed. "One! Let it rip!" Cami jumped into the air and released her bey into the stadium, electricity sparking from Storm.
Cami landed on her feet and free hand to watch Storm zoomed around the stadium with a bright turquoise light shining behind it. She smiled at the astonishing speed that Swiftstorm is performing and the agility she's showing as Swiftstorm bounced against the stadium. Cami was startled to see golden sparks coming from behind Swiftstorm after she had hit the stadium. She felt sweat coming down from her brow as if she was having a ten miled run, it felt as if she's one with Swiftstorm and was zooming around in the stadium.
When Swiftstorm came to stop, Cami collapsed to her knees and started panting from the practice run. She picked up Storm and gave her bey a tired smile as she looked at Storm.
"Geez Storm," commented Cami. "You sure took it out from the both of us, didn't you?"
Her bey gleamed back at her, which is probably closest thing for a bey to smile back. Cami chuckled quietly as she placed her bey in her new personal pocket that has been made for Storm. Cami picked up her bottle of cold water and drank from it to calm down her thirst. She closed her eyes and felt herself calm down at the familiar sounds that she had grew up with: birdsong, rustling leaves, blowing winds, mooing cows, oinking pigs, braying donkeys, the clucking of chickens, bleating sheep and goats, and... a pair of panicked running feet?
Cami opened her deep blue eyes at the same time as the door of the practice house have been flung opened by brown-haired nine year old boy named Jayson. Cami is one of the eldest and most responsible teenagers of the village and has been granted the responsibility of babysitting the children whenever their parents are busy or overwhelmed in weariness.
"Cami! We need your help!" Jayson's blue eyes were wild with fear and looked at Cami pleadingly.
"What's wrong?" Cami gotten up and turned to look at Jayson in wary concern.
"An icy kid had came and had beaten everyone in the village," explained Jayson frantically.
"Just send Jorge then," Cami replied dismissively as she gotten out Swiftstorm and looked at the stadium, thinking about another practice run with Swiftstorm. "He's the best Blader we have in the village."
"He was the first one to fall," said Jayson quietly. "He and his team's beys all have been shattered to pieces."
This caught Cami's attention and she slowly turned herself around to look at Jayson in shock. Jorge is (or was?) one of the best Bladers they have in Valiente, no one could stop him and his Grand Cetus during battles. Till now apparently.
"Jorge has been beaten?" Cami's voice was quiet from shock. "How?"
"I don't know." Jorge held Cami's free hand. "It was was very intense and next thing we know Cetus had became scattered." He started tugging on Cami's hand. "Please help us."
"But—" Whatever Cami was going to say, it died in her throat as she looked at Jayson. He seemed so scared and desperate to her.
Half of the townsfolk must be startled out of their minds by now, thought Cami.
She finally sighed and nodded to Jayson with a small, but hesitant smile. Cami clutched her bey close to her chest, unaware of the turquoise aura emitting from her.
Lets do this thing, thought Cami determinedly.
