Here he comes

I was walking home. I looked at every street corner. Every alleyway. Just to make sure he wasn't there. I knew better, but it was still hard to stop looking. A few years ago I had a boyfriend. We were very close and were around each other a lot. Then one day he came home after partying. He was drunk. He forced himself on me and wouldn't stop no matter how loud I screamed. I get so sick just thinking about him I can't even say his name in my thoughts.

He is in jail now. Has been for two years. I haven't had a boyfriend since. I don't really have friends either. Just me and my thoughts.

I walked up to the blue and white house I call my home. I went right in and made a beeline for my room. Nobody was home and I didn't like to be left alone.

I plopped down on my bed, continuing my algebra homework. 3x+45-x=? When would I even need that? Oh well. Not much I can do about it anyway.

About an hour later I was finished. I sat on the window seat and watched everything go by. The sound of keys turning in the door told me that mom was home.

"Rey, come help me put up these groceries. " she called from the kitchen.

"Okay"

We put up groceries in silence for a while, then my mom spoke up.

"I arranged for you to meet new people. It's this meeting. A meet and greet. It would be good for you. "

I stopped , holding a broccoli in my hand " I don't want to go. "

"You are going. I've took time to do this for you. You ARE going. "

I sighed as i put the broccoli in the drawer.

Its the day of the meet and greet and all I want to do is stay home. But I find myself sitting at a table. Alone. It's an hour past the time I was supposed to be here. It's dark out too, so there is no walking going to be happening. My mom had to go out of town for a little while.

The doors slam open. I turn and see a tall guy with dark hair, tattoos, piercing blue eyes, and a devilish smirk that gives me the chills. He looks all around the room then finally settles his eyes on me. I turn back around. Maybe he didn't see me.

I hear the thump thump of boots walking closer and close my eyes. I hear the scrape of a chair and the sound of someone easing into it. I don't hear anything for a while so I open my eyes. I frown when he is still there.

" hi there" he smiled it sent shivers down my spine.

" hi" I croaked.

" I'm James. ".

"Rey"

"Cute" he winked at me. I gulped.

"where is everybody? Is it just you and me?" He said leaning back in his chair. I nodded. Why was this James guy even here? He looked more like he was in a gang than a person to meet here.

"You dont talk much"

"I don't need to. I don't even want to be here. "

"Well it's almost over anyways. You wanna go hang?"

"Not really. I'm just going to go find a phone"

"why?"

"So I can get a ride home "

"I could give you a ride"

I looked him over. I didn't want to even touch him let alone be in the same car. But it would be my best bet at getting home.

"You are taking me straight home. " I said grabbing my jacket and going outside. He caught up quick. "Where is your car?" I asked looking at the empty parking lot. James chuckled slightly and ran over to a motorcycle under a tree.

"Hop on " he said holding out a helmet. I reluctantly grabbed it and put it on. I swung my leg over and lightly put my hands on his shoulders.

" I don't bite. Hard. " he said as he put my arms all the way around him. Instantly it was warmer outside. "Hold on tight Rey "
James started it up and it roared to life. It slowly got to the road then sped faster and faster along the way.

What had I gotten myself into?
