PART ONE - THE DEVIL YOU KNOW
Six Years Ago
Hours into the night, the man stepped out of the blue Ferrari he was driving, pushing his silver rimmed circular glasses up the bridge of his nose before readjusting the lapels of his black overcoat. His curly reddish-brown hair was in a man-bun while loose ringlets that had escaped the confinement swayed freely as he moved.
He towered over majority of the many men he walked past as he walked into the hotel and straight to the reception.
"Sasha Sokolov" his voice caused the absentminded receptionist to shudder and as she looked at him, he saw the fear instantly appear in her eyes. Sasha wasn't unfamiliar with the look in those eyes.
He knew he wasn't a pretty sight.
He had a long scar running over his left brow and down to his chin, slightly missing his lips and leaving him partially blind in one eye.
"Would you be a little more scared if I pulled out a gun, sweetheart?" He smirked; voice filled with sarcasm and an undiluted Russian accent as she shakily handed him the key-card to his room.
"Thank you" He took the card and walked to the elevator, glancing at the faded silver watch on his wrist. It was late 1:45AM.
He stepped into the elevator and pressed the button leading to the 25th floor. Eyes on the door as it slowly grew closer together, he watched a small hand stretch out, consequently stopping the doors from closing.
Sorry" a blonde woman mumbled, struggling to hold up the dark-skinned woman who was drunk out of her mind.
"I'm hungry" the drunk woman slurred, wrapping her arms around her best friend's neck. Her locs flopped down, covering her face. She stayed silent for a couple of seconds before her head shot up again.
"I want a kiss" Her voice turned flirtatious, filled with lust as she nipped on her bottom lip. The more sober friend cleared her throat and looked around. When her eyes caught sight of the tall and muscular man in the elevator, she froze with fear.
The drunk friend looked in the direction of her friend's gaze and Sasha wasn't sure what he was expecting but he certainly wasn't expecting his heart to 'skip a beat'.
It was either because she was beautiful or because she smiled so prettily. There was something about her beauty that made him feel like she was different.
She was the first person who smiled at him on seeing him for the first time. It was a little uncomfortable and a little more adorable.
Her cheek dimples were deep.
'Or maybe it's just because you're horny' he thought, finding it a tad bit hard to look away.
"Oh, look. It's Kylo Ren" She giggled, and he blinked at her before raising a brow. How could such meaningless blabber sound so pretty, he wondered.
