Shadow told me all about Maria and how amazing she was. He really admired her. They had a very strong bond that can't be recreated. He spent most of the time crying. At some point he had fallen asleep in my arms. I fell asleep too.
When I woke up, he was still fast asleep. I watched him for a little bit. He looked... cute when he slept. Wait, did I...? No, I didn't like him.
...right?
He started to move, waking up. He looked up and jumped.
"S-Sonic! Uhm, why am I here?"
"Heh, don't worry about it."
"Ok?"
He got up and sat beside me.
"How are you so warm?"
"O-oh, I don't know."
We spent a couple more minutes in silence.
"So, does this mean you're gonna come out more?"
"Yes, I think so."
I smiled. Mission accomplished!
Shadow P.O.V
I felt a little embarrassed about last night. I fell asleep on Sonic. I appreciate his efforts to comfort me. Maybe he isn't so bad, after all.
What am I saying, he's my rival! He's just... too nice for his own good. Stupid hedgehog. He needs to learn who's actually worth caring about. I'm definitely not worth his concern.
It was nice talking to him, though. I have never really spoken to anyone about Maria. It really helps to get it off my chest and share it with someone. Sonic seemed very invested in the conversation, and he comforted me. He even held me in his arms. I'm very grateful.
I had returned to my room and started cleaning up. After a little while, he came in and started helping me. We didn't speak of much, but his presence was... nice, I suppose.
"Thank you for last night." I finally said, breaking the silence. He blushed a little.
"O-oh, yea, of course. Anything for a friend."
"Why do you consider me a friend?"
He thought about it for a moment before responding.
"Well, you helped us. You don't seem that bad, and you don't have bad intentions. You're a good person."
"But I'm not. You have no idea my intentions, and I've done terrible things."
"But that's in the past! Now, you're helping us. And I may not know your intentions, but I know you're doing what you think is right."
"Yes, I suppose so."
"So, we're friends!"
"Alright, we are friends."

We ate lunch all together. Tails, Knuckles, Rouge and Sonic sat at a round table, and I sat beside Sonic. He really wanted to sit beside me. Do friends do that? Or is that different?
He kept staring at me. Like let me eat my croissant in peace, hedgehog!
He almost looked like he was blushing.
"Faker, why are you staring at me?"
He almost choked on his drink.
"O-oh, sorry! I was just looking at your, uh, quills. They're very interesting."
"Tch, sure."
"Sonic, are you gay?" Tails asked. I died of laughter, and he got super flustered.
"T-Tails! What the hell! And what if I was, huh?"
"So you are?" I asked, still laughing.
"Why do you wanna know?" He said raising his eyebrows. Ok well now I was blushing. "Are you?"
"Well, kind of." He raised his eyebrows. "I guess I'm bisexual."
"Oh, really? Ok well then I guess I should come out. I'm gay gay homosexual gay." He said. I chuckled.
"I never would have guessed Sonic the Hedgehog is gay. I always assumed you were into Amy."
"I knew." Tails smirked, flustering Sonic even further.
Well, now I know he's into men. Why do I care? It's not like I like him or anything.

Him and I met in his room after lunch and talked. We spent a couple hours talking about random topics. We actually have a lot in common. We're both doing what we think is right.
"Sonic, have you ever been in love?" He seemed very taken aback by that question.
"I-I mean... hasn't everyone? I haven't really yet, but I think I might like someone."
"Oh? Interesting."
"Have you ever been in love, Shadow?"
"I'm not sure."
"Oh."
He started to blush. I wonder why. Did he just always blush? Was it a side affect of his speed?
Sonic P.O.V
Sonic seriously you need to stop blushing. He's going to catch on!
