Chi You

A being who appeared in various forms across the myths and records of ancient China.

In the Shan Hai Jing,( Classic of mountains and seas) He is an ox headed monster with 4 eyes and 6 arms.

And in Shu Yi Ji (Tales Of Strange Matters) He is a god of battle with a bronzen head and an iron brow, who consumes metals and stone.

Meanwhile to the people of and around the state of Qin, he was revered as the god of war or the god of militaries who invented the 5 tools of war: the crossbow, the sword, the halberd, the spear and armor.

But is this really the truth?

Nay!

In China, kings did not become kings they were permitted to become kings by the demon god Chi You.

As written in the Records of Shi Ji (The records of the grand historian) in the twenty sixth year of Shi Huang(220 B.C.) The king of Qin brought about the "unification of all of China" from thence he embarked on a royal tour of the east. During which he ascended mount Tai alone and preformed the rite proper only to those monarchs who had received the mandate of Heaven. the rite of Feng and Shan.

But just what sort of ceremony was the rite of Feng and Shan?

And just what took place at the top of mount Tai?

The only one who knows the truth of questions...

Was Qin Shi Huang herself.

Upon reaching the top of the mountain she was greeted by Chi You who praised the soon to be king who remained unfazed while all those before her cowered in the demon god's presence before making her an offer.

By offering up ten thousands of her people and kneeling before the god Chi You would allow Qin to rule as Emperor, king among kings.

Qin's response was to gesture to the box beside her claiming she had already thought of that.

Taking it the demon grew confused as well as frustrated when instead of the ten thousand human sacrifices it was a single figure made of clay.

Qin claimed that soil of Qin was delicious and invited the demon to eat his fill, enraged and insulted by such an offer and warned that she would never control China without his divine admittance and gave her one last chance to submit to Chi You.

Qin refused.

The demon's face

the demons's voice

and the demon's attitude.

Qin declared she would choose death before kneeling to one as hideous as he.

She than denounced him as a god before declaring all kings that came before her were never kings and that she would defeat Chi You and become the king where it all begins.

Qin Shi Huang vs Chi You, a slow but steady death match that continued on for six days.

Until the demon god Chi You laid defeated at Qin's feet. At that moment the history of China passed onto the hands of man!

Unknown to most watching however the two did have an audience to their battle, the twelve sprits of the zodiac who had an interest in Qin before the meeting of the demon god decided to reward the newly crowned king with 12 abilities.

And it was during this time when the king of Qin finished the Rite of Feng and Shan atop mount Tai and took the title of Qin Shi Huang.
