If only I thought of it first

It never occurred to Vegas that this was going to be one of his last encounters with Pete. If he had known, I am sure he would have rather stayed in bed cuddling him instead of going to the mission where all hell was going to break loose.

The Major and Minor households are going on a combined mission, Vegas was not sure what this mission was going to be about but all he knew is that he wanted to kick some ass. Vegas was the only one hyped up and ready to go but the other members weren't so sure. It was a risky mission, and it was only announced a few hours before they had to go, so no one was really prepared. It says something though when the most energetic one out of the bunch, Tankhun was looking scared, you could see it in his eyes, they were trembling looking left and right. Looking at his cousin's reaction caught him off guard, but Vegas didn't think much of it, I mean he never really cared for the Major family.

A few hours later Vegas entered the room where Pete was getting ready. He slowly slid his hand around Pete's thin waist and dug his face into his back. It was warm and comforting, it almost made Vegas forget all about this so-called mission he had no idea about. Pete gave out a slightly annoyed giggle and said, "Please stop Vegas, we have to get ready". Pete could sense Vegas pouting from behind him and so he cupped Vegas' cheek, still behind him, turned his face sideways and gave Vegas a small peck on the lips. Vegas blushed, digging his head even more into Pete's back. Pete reached down to Vegas' hands and tried to release himself from Vegas' strong grip while wanting to complete packing. But Vegas didn't let go so easily, he started to tickle Pete grabbing him by the waist once again, both then fell onto the bed, Vegas this time digging his head into Pete's neck giving him small kisses there. Pete begged Vegas to stop while still laughing aloud. There they were, the two of them lying on the bed both spread out like starfish, they let out a small giggle and then stopped completely. Listening to the silence, admiring it with the people they loved most, which was each other. They both turned to each other still laying down, Pete let out a hesitant sigh before speaking. "Uh Vegas I'm so sure about this mission, I never really say this b-but I'm kind of s-scared." Pete's expression seemed dull, but Vegas busted into laughter, "You! Out of all people are scared??" He kept on laughing, making a small giggle escape Pete's mouth. "No no but seriously Vegas... I'm scared like dead serious", Vegas still laughing barely hearing what his lover said stopped laughing after he saw tears forming in Pete's eyes. Pete rolled over onto his stomach bringing a hand to cover his face, not wanting Vegas to see him cry like a baby. Vegas finally read the room and started to apologize while scooting over to Pete hugging him close, "Oh Honey I'm sorry, I didn't know I really thought you were joking". Vegas' guilt was piling up as he was hearing Pete cry in his arms, sobbing uncontrollably, He promised to always treat Pete right after the incident at the safehouse causing many unforgettable scars on Pete's chest. But besides that, Pete was really scared, and it showed, Vegas kissed him on the forehead trying to calm him down while stroking Pete's back knowing in his head that all he could do was nothing.

Everyone is in their cars headed to the location set out by the Major family. Vegas and Pete are in one of the main cars while Kinn and Porsche are in the other. Vegas knows that Pete is trembling but can't say anything in front of the bodyguards or else they might exclude Pete thinking he is 'weak' so all Vegas can do is hold Pete's hand hoping for him to calm down. Pete gives him a simple "thank you" and kisses him on the cheek. After that encounter they were silent for the whole car ride with tension filling the room.

As they arrived everybody stayed in the cars for a while, rehearsing the plan once again before heading out to battle. Bodyguards go out first so Pete and Vegas were left in the car alone for a bit. They just sat there in silence not wanting to speak, they wanted to be together just for a little bit more even if that meant being in complete silence. But then Vegas broke that silence by saying "You're all good now right, babe?" Pecking at Pete's cheek trying to lighten the mode. Pete gave a half-Hearted giggle and replied sarcastically with "Oh yes my handsome honey bun" while pinching both sides of Vegas' cheeks. Vegas rolled his eyes and leaned in for a kiss, little did Pete know he had something up his sleeve. Pete thought it would be a innocent kiss but suddenly he felt something hot slide in, Vegas' tongue filled Pete's mouth, Pete tried to pull back, but Vegas was holding him tight. It was a very unenjoyable kiss as Vegas was laughing his ass off through it, but so was Pete, so he can't talk.

They headed out on to the battlefield meeting Kinn and Porsche there. Pete was surprised they took as long as him and Vegas but that wasn't the problem right now. They looked around and saw half of their bodyguards on the floor lifeless. Some moaning in pain while some not moving at all. Pete felt un comfy, his stomach churned, he almost felt like throwing up but before he could Vegas' hand covered his lover's eyes and lead him where no body's laid. They were headed into a tunnel, it was dark and quiet, so quiet that you could only hear yourself breath. They walked even further down the tunnel with their guns beside them. After making sure no one else was there with them they lowered their guns. And that was when all hell broke loose, gun shots were fired from down the tunnel, the tunnel was so deep that Vegas didn't even notice that there were people waiting there. Vegas and Pete hid behind the massive rocks and so did the gunmen. It was a crossfire, a massive one, as they were shooting their guns, Vegas and Pete started to run back to the main car. Pete was never a fast runner so of course he lost his breath a couple times, but did I also mention that Pete was smart? incredibly smart, the only reason why he got accepted as a bodyguard for the Major family was because of his high IQ.

Vegas knew that Pete was a slow runner, but Pete knew that at that moment it didn't cross his mind. So, while Vegas was 101 steps ahead of Pete, thinking the whole time Pete was behind him Vegas slammed the door open and hopped in. His heart dropped when he saw Pete standing 101 steps behind him still at the entrance of the tunnel. As Vegas was about to jump out of the car the door slammed shut right before his eyes. Pete on the other side of the tinted glass window. With his face pressed against the window begging Pete to run to him while trying his hardest to open the car door, tears filled his eyes as he noticed a remote control in Pete's hand. "No No No Pete please don't do this to me, please don't, just run to me please" Vegas said as his voice cracked, sobbing nonstop. That's right, Vegas fell into Pete's trap, it was like taking candy from a baby Pete thought to himself. Pete knew that he wasn't going to make it, he knew all along, so he rigged the car he was in and made a remote control for it. The moment he pressed the button the car would shut its doors and drive safely to the place everyone agreed to meet up after the mission was complete. No matter how hard the person stuck in the car tried to get out, after the button was pressed it would never open until it reached its destination.

The gunmen behind Pete reloading their guns, Vegas in the car yelling and crying out loud just so no one could hear him and Pete standing there ready to risk it all. Vegas is screaming and saying words along the lines of "Pete you idiot, why didn't you just yell my name? I would've just ran back to you..., like I always would of" Vegas' eyes were swollen at this point. As the car was getting ready to drive off, Pete mouthed the words "I'm Sorry Vegas, I Love You" Before entering the tunnel again. Vegas proceeded to say "Damn it, why didn't I think of that first? Why am I in this stupid car and not Pete? I'm the one that should be entering the tunnel again" as he sat down on his seat calmly, his head down and waited till he reached his destination.

Vegas was the last person to attend Pete's funeral, he was just in too much pain and couldn't comprehend it, that his lover was dead. But he knew that all he need was time, and there was a lot of it, so overtime Vegas learnt to accept Pete's death. Days, weeks and months went by. Vegas was doing well until one night when he was struggling to sleep so he decided to head to a place where he and Pete loved to hang out, a place where they loved to cuddle while looking at the view. And that special view was the roof top of the Minor Household. That's where they always used to hang out before they told anyone that they were dating. Vegas sat there admiring the view silently, he could stare at the Bangkok skyline all day if he could. A secret hideout of their own that no one else knows about. Well maybe one other person besides Vegas and Pete knows about it.

"Papa" a small sleepy voice called out. "Venice, what are you doing out here? You're supposed to be asleep in bed buddy" Vegas said as he smiled softly at Venice. Vegas adopted Venice a few months after Pete's death. Vegas never wanted a child, but Venice really caught his eye, Venice somewhat reminded Vegas of his late lover. Vegas welcomed Venice into his arms and they both got lost in the skyline. Venice knew about Pete; Vegas would show Venice pictures and tell him stories about him. And when Venice goes to the Major family's house, they would always tell stories about their beloved Pete, Venice's late dad. As Vegas patted Venice to sleep while looking at the view, he looked up and thought to himself and while getting lost in the thoughts Vegas laughed at himself while putting his head down to rest, knowing that Pete would've loved to adopt Venice, But Vegas giggled because he knew that he thought of it first.
